I've had this happen to me twice now - both on 0.7 and 0.756 - and on two different maps. The problem occurs when I switch to the medkit using the mouse roller. As soon as my character holds the medkit, BF2 crashes to desktop leaving not a trace behind. Mind you, to make this bug particularly hard to catch, it doesn't happen every time (but it is very annoying when it does).



No screenies or videos I'm afraid - there's no time before my system CTDs!

What OS are you using, and where did you DL the patch from?

Also, did you patch or did you install everything from scratch?

hm i just had a simliar problem like 10 seconds ago. i was reviving a bunch of guys and then when i switched to my medkit to heal them, i just ctded. not sure if it had anything to do with hte medkit, but i thought i mite post since its somewhat related

Thanks! I'm running XP SP2, DL'd the patch from Battlefield-X.de (linked on this site) and I patched. Like I said though, I had this problem in both 0.7 and 0.756.

Thanks for posting - that's exactly what happened to me...twice.

This used to happen to me.. in 0.5 & 0.6, but has not happened since 0.7.
It also used to happen to me when i'd get a mine out as engineer.

This has also been reported several times over the last 18 months.. with no explaination & no known cause AFAIK.

Not much help.. but there is some background/history to this problem.

this is know to happen in vbf2 too
so i guess hardcoded - and definitly not the devs fault (behold! )

I play medic now and then in both pr and vBF2, don't think I ever experienced the ctd above. Then again I almost never use the scrollwheel to swap between medpack, paddles, weapon etc. I mainly use keyboard for that.

I was looking for information about this.

It happens sometimes when you take from the floor the medic kit, there is no doubt.
I remember that I had the same problem with AR kit, when AR had ammo box versions ago. Was the same, kit founded on the floor and when you switched to ammo box.. bye bye.
