Auto Reload - Off

I think this has been brung up in a topic before but i think we should really state it.

I know there is a little bit in the player settings to turn the auto reload off. But it would be much better if there was just no setting to turn it on in the first place and every singal player had to reload at the end of each mag.

It would encorge players to count there bulliets much more ect and also would just love to see that guy with a gun and trys to fire at ou and all he gets is a "click, click, click" and you turn arround and shoot him in the face 8-)

As it is a game setting, I'm not too sure you can limit it. If PR disable it by default, I think you can just write "generalSettings.setAutoReload 1" in the console and it would be back.

Edit: Uh, well that turned out to be disallowed. Well you could still slap it into your con files for the profile.

Auto Reload Off is a great idea!

I also think it would bring more immersion to the game. as of now you basically have a gun with lots of ammo, but which pauses time to time. no real sense of using a weapon you have to take care of ( a jamming effect would be sweet as i'm at it ;) but probably not codable as of now )
so ya having to push a button to reload your gun makes it feal more real in your hands

ps: ( but lets stop there after that because having to clean it up after the battle is pushing things a bit too much )

heh ya mean it's not off?

lol.. It never occured to me that it was not disabled in the mod, I've had it turned off forever.

Even with auto reload on, that can be problematic .. jumping around a corner firing one round and going into the reload adnimation not good for your health :)

I agree this should be disabled.

mhhh is the weapon depleted i do reload why not in auto mode
i did not see the difference nor an advantage if it is in auto mode.

ah well see it does have an unfair advantage when sniping

I had a perfect headshot lined up, pulled trigger and "click"

Yep, this happened to me before.

Was freshly medic'd, the wierd bug where you sometimes get an enemy kit (if you died and were revived near him) happened, I get up, turn around, enemy Spec Ops right there, go to fire at him all I hear is *click* and I get a burst of bullets in my face

Yea I never understood why this auto-reload was ever implemented in the first place. Is it that hard for someone to hit the reload button when they are out of ammo?

I think this would in crease the realism a whole lot. It also would encourage the squad play. If your witha bunch of friendlies, and you start shooting at something and here a click, you can easily just spot the enemy and dive for cover. Just my views don't know if I'm right or wrong.

I dont think i ever use a whole mag. I reload every chance i get and never use auto reload

I think that reloading every chance you get is a waste of your bullets. There isn't anythin wrong with this, but I just think that they could be spent more usefully. You only get a ceratin number of mags, so I use mine sparingly.

Well trust me I usually kill with 1 or 2 rounds and if i get in a firefight I mean i reload after the fight.

yea what dedmon does is a tactical reload.... common practice in most militaries, if your below half your mag, switch it out with a fresh mag.

and if your going to assault a bunker/trench, you ALWAYS have a fresh mag loaded, regardless of whether you shot 1 round or 20.

the dumb thing about BF2, is you just toss your mags out, regardless of whether you still had rounds in them. Rainbow 6 / Operation Flashpoint has the system of you reload a fresh mag, and continue to do so until your out of fresh mags. Then you begin loading mags with less and less rounds in them (Say you had a mag with 10 rounds and a mag with 5, you will load the 10 round mag first, then reload the 5 round mag after you have spent the ammo)

yeah I wish bf2 didnt throw away mags with rounds in them

no if you read up dedmon is saying that you should put that same mag with like 10 bulliets still left in it into your blet, and not just chuck it on the ground. Then if u need to use thous last 10 bulliets later on when the rest of your mags are all out then you can ram that old mag back in it. Which that is the realistic point but i dont see how this could be coded into BF2 :|
