"resupply available"

Whilst driving/piloting vehicles that can deploy supplies, I suggest that you should be given the option to announce "resupply available on your request."

It could be the right click option for "on the way" on the commo rose and existing samples from vBF2 could possibly fit. Maybe?

Maybe we could patch in the Commander voice that says "[Squad Leader,]Resupply is available on your request" until we find something better.

You should be able to find it in BF2/Mods/pr/common_client.zip/English/Commander/[No_Filter or Filter]/COMMSL_COMRADIO_supplydropavailable.ogg.

Yeah, that was the particular sample i was thinking of.

Are squad members able to make such a request? It should only be Squad Leaders that are able to call in supply drops etc...

I'm not sure if its legal to edit EA's samples to remove the [squad leader] part.

Isn't it just for the driver of the supply truck/helo/light transport?

For example, the driver clicks the "Resupply available on your request" button. To confirm, anyone nearby would just say "I need ammo!" or something, prompting the driver/pilot to drop the supplies. No fancy request system needed.

The amount of supply crates that truck/helo/light transports can distribute are very limited, you need to be sure your dropping it where its needed.

I wouldn't want to risk flying over basrah to drop my only crate for someone that has an ammo supplier in his squad who only has to wait 20 seconds for him to spawn...

My point is, communication between pilots and soldiers in different squads is difficult without a well coordinated CO. I think a requested supply drop, assigned by an officer is the safest, more realistic execution. Even if only to make the use of EA's samples easier. :p

The boxes are most useful for building assets. Perhaps the (larger) Merlin should carry two?

I'll tell you one thing. There were far more times where I needed to say "Check your fire!" or "Friendly fire!". Heh.

lol. then you could spam firebases all over the map :D . i like the one-box solution since you would have to get to the pos you want an asset built and hold it till the chopper returns OR get two choppers coordinated (my fav move when playing archer on usmc is bringing two hueys to the hilltop base and build a firebase there right away ;) ). it would be too easy with 2 boxes i think (unless you'd need 3 to deploy an asset).

Except, you know, there's a flag requirement and all that.

Great idea! It'd show more people that light transports now have ammo dumps with the new announcement. I can see :o s when players drop off ammo from their trucks to them. :D

It's a better voice option than "Missile Released!".

When you're listening to some guy in the back of the supply truck spamming "Fox One, Fox One!", you have to wonder if you're still playing vBF2 for the silliness of it all...

true. but you could e.g. on ghostpain fly over to the chinese side as a brit, drop the crates, build a firebase and slaughter them. too simple imho. the system rocks as it is now.
