Aloha,

Why do I get disconnected from servers, at about 1-2 minutes after joining them?

I updated PB, thought maybe that's the reason. But no, still get ousted from servers.

All help appreciated!

Same thing happened to me. I updated punkbuster even if I was using the lastest version and it worked.

Try uninstalling punkbuster, then reinstall pb, then re-update. I'm pretty sure that helps...

OK, I try one more (to me seemingly unnecessary) PB update.

I read about this issue, and reckon NORMALLY you need to re-install the game. I just don't think this is my issue. I have a brand new shiny PC put up last friday and I have been PR'ing for 3 days with no problems.

Anyway, thanks for your input, fella.

Using the auto updates from PB in most cases will NOT work.

To get best results, update manually. However, it's not guaranteed that you won't get disconnected.
There are a number of other reasons why you would still get disconnected, such as:

1. Server issues
2. PB not communicating with BF2 for whatever reason (firewall, lag, pc issue)
3. Latency issues with your ISP
4. Etc.

How do I uninstall it?

Sorry for a bloody stupid question, but all I have is the PB exe & stuff in my BF2/pb folder...

I mean, I have no "uninstall" option, not anywhere I can see it.

There are quite a few threads on this topic; some of the "fixes" may be worth your time, others not so much.

I had the same disconnection issue, seemingly out of the blue as soon as .7 was released. One of the threads suggested adding your own IP address to your firewall. I use Zonealarm, and adding my own IP to the list of safe "zones" eliminated my connection issues and I haven't had a problem since. No clue why it works. Computers are crazy.

Thanks for this too.

I tried 3 different servers, iGi, Thors and the teamwork one. All kicks.

No lag here, I just upgraded my line to 6MB and all I can say everything is FAST.

Uh huh hummm, I will try to kick PB another nodge, cheers.

To note, this is the auto updater.
I recommend updating manually.

I guess I read the part about manual update if this doesn't work.

In case you won't see me back within 30 minutes, it's working 8-)

With this, you can uninstall PB, then with the same thing you can install it. And with that other file (pbsetup?) you can update your files. Worked for me and some other guys I know as well.. Hope it helps the OP.

I thank you for your time, but it did not help/solve my issue.

9 times out of ten, a reinstall of everything will fix your problem.

8 times out of ten, its a PB problem.

Ya, too bad I was drunk on Jameson on friday night when I installed PR. For some f***ing reason, I have managed to lose/delete the installation files.

Kids, don't install PC's on Irish whiskey. :(

Just wanted to add here:

RESOLUTION - full uninstall and re-install

Everything else provided nothing but a temp solution.

Good day, sirs.
