Parachute as a weapon.

If we do this we can have it as single use and make it so that you cant re-arm from ammo pack and supply crates plus you can also make it user specific.

on the side you cant shoot whilst using it which is much more realistic.

That's an interesting idea, to be honest if that's possible I think it would probably be the best way to do things.

The parachute already is a weapon. It is called "parachutelauncher", and when fired it creates the parachute, which is a vehicle. How BF2 handles this "parachutelauncher" is partially internal, as I have had no success in limiting how much ammo it has.

but it is not counted as a seperate weapon it is a uses as well as weapon what i think is that it should be a on its own weapon.

(oh and that means if you de-select it you fall out of the sky) Happy landings!!

Yeah if possible disable the parachutelauncher and add it as a selectable weapon. Perhaps then it can be limited?

which was my idea in the first place you can also make it so you can only resupply from a certain object( i think any way).

Right, not trying to swipe your idea :) . More just asking if that would make it (whith the engine limitation Camelot pointed out) a one time use weapon.

hey the parachute launcher cant we setit up to work as an ejector seat so you press 9 the eject and have the chute deploy??

Very good idea.

I myself have looked into this and it's not looking like it's possible.

The parachute "vehicle" only works with the "parachutelauncher" weapon. This weapon is not a normal weapon because its coding is partially internal. The part of code that is needed to make it a selectable weapon is core-code. As well as the amount of ammunition this launcher would have. Which is inaccessable to us.

Who knows though. There may be some way to integrate something similar. ;)

I think you all have had some great Ideas here. I am happy to be a part of this community even it is only as a player for now.

Is it possible to limit the height that you can deploy the package? If so can we play with different altitudes that it can be used from? That would eliminate base jumpers and improper use of the chutes.

does that mean that we could produce a "Ejector seat launcher" bassed on the same idea??
perhaps a replace ment for the parachute??
