Project Reality in Booster Maps?

I'm sure this has been addressed, but I didnt see it. Will PR be functional in the new Special Forces, or European Forces maps?
Thanks

I say just figure out a way to port some of the maps over (like the Carrier map)

Considering the number of PRMM players there are already, not all of them have Special Force (I do, I'm not just saying this for my sake), and even fewer of them will get the booster packs, considering the feedback I've heard about them so far.
It's probably not worth the time, especially since there are so many custom maps better suited for the mod anyways.
NOTE: Before anybody says it, you can't just port the maps over to regular BF2 (i.e BF2 without any expansions), because of the legal issues (duh). You can only play with Special Forces or Booster Pack equipment/maps/anything individual to the pack if you own them.

Well, some of the maps are really really good in the SF expansion.
Would a solution to be to have a "Vanilla" PR, and a PR that operates with the expanded maps...
I mean, look what happened to the Ghost Recon community and those expansions, eventually it became mandatory to have to play ....with the mods...
These are good maps in the expansions, I'd hate to see it all go to waste.
Have 2 versions (while--UNTIL-- everyone gets the new boosters) might be a solution, it might not be that technically hard to do to have two PR icons one for SF one for BF "vanilla"? I dont know.

I always prefer Spec Ops to BF2. But because it has so few maps, my squad went off it. Always prefer it due to the infantry emphasis. Now that PR does that to a much larger extent, its better on this due to the custom maps, bigger maps, more varied maps etc
I'd love to give this a go on Devils perch and Warlord though

I dont think that's a good idea. PR doesnt have many players: Chances are it'll never have (lets be realistic). Dividing even a medium size community in 2 can be pretty devastating (think Joint Operations and its expansion).
No, I think PR should continue to just support vanilla BF2. I have SF and I would LOVE to use the grappling hooks and stuff in PR, so its not for the reason I dont have it.
Well either that or ONLY support the expansion. But that's pretty harsh for those that doesnt have it.

Please say no to expansions, boosters, or anything that would force people to buy more from EA/Dice to play PR. Having to pay $100 (BF2-$50 SF-$30 Boosters-$10 each) to play a free mod doesn't make sense. $50 extra for some maps, buildings, vehicles and weapons that could be recreated or be done much better by the mod team. Have some faith in our Dev's and the mod communty. If it can be done with an EA mod it can be done with stock BF2. And probably better since there is no pressure to SELL it to anyone.

It might be very simple to make PRMM compatible with both. Im surprised you dismiss this out of hand.
Frankly, I know everyone's budget is different, but the price of the boosters/expansions are slight. IMO. Especially when you consider the economics of the issue, just how many hours of entertainment do you get out of your BF2 game?
How much are you paying per hour you enjoy BF2, or its expansions? Im guessing pennies per hour....
Bottom line, the maps are quite good, its a shame we dont have them.
Warlord as a map or Ghost are easily as good or better than Strike at Karkand...which for me is a classic map.

But PR can make it's own maps and I think that pretty much anything that is in BF2:SF and the booster packs are available to modders.

yeah, after all; the maps are just maps, the engine is the same, I mean you can put Karkand on the Demo for bf2, it wouldn't make much of a dif, although the maps are better suited to SF than PR...

So, you are saying it wouldnt take much to make the PR mod for the expansions?

but that would result in people like me (who don't want to be extorted by EA) cant use these packs/levels!!

Really I think that it would be a diversion that wouldn't yield great results. With PR already able to make its own maps that will probably be better than those produced by EA. Even the new features in these expansion packs and boosters can already be used by modders, to split the community along those lines now would probably be detrimental to the health of the mod.
Also the ziplining and such found in SF increases the sort of arcadey-ninja style gameplay that PR is trying to get away from. If the only good things these packs can offer is maps than there really isn't a need to become compatible with them since PR already has great mappers who can make better maps.

not probably WILL BE better than EA's maps.

Have you played the maps in question?
Ziplines can be turned off.
P.S. I don't know what you are talking about when you say that EA extorts money for their expansions?
DO you think they should be free?

EA is a business trying to make money. Making that money is fine. But I don't think there is any need to expand PR into them because everything they offer is already available to modders I beleive. Good maps can be put into the mod without requiring everyone who wants to get AWAY from BF2 arcade gameplay to buy an expansion or booster pack.

I would love just to export maps and weapons not with any of the other sf ****.

Yeah agreed. The maps are excellent. I'm sorry better than any user made map.

I just like the warlord map and ghost town those are my favorite hands down.\
The battles that take place in the palace are the best.
