Weapons hit boxes

I'm not even really sure what that means "hit boxes"...i think it has to do with pixel matching between where you think you shot, and where it hits?
Doesnt matter, my question is this: Is there a way to make the shooting more accurate, like where you shoot is where it hits ON THE BODY of the individual?
I'm thinking specifically of GHOST RECON (the original), they seemed to have the whole weapon bullet hit/accuracy thing down to a science, I wonder if you can talk with those modders/developers maybe they can add something to this mod on that regard???
Also, BULLET DROP? instead of randomness, can you make it based on some actual factors like windage, gravity, etc., movement, that type of thing?

Are you asking to make weapons more accurate, because where you hit IS where it hits on the body. It just registers as chest-shot, headshot, crotch shot, etc.
Hit box is simply the term that assigns certain part of the body those properties (i.e how the game knows which part of the player is the head, and that hitting the "head" will do more damage).
As for bullet drop, there already is some (watch the MG tracers), although I don't know how it reflects real world values. Bullets also have momentum in the mod, so when you're moving (especially in a vehicle), momentum is taken into account.
Windage would just make things silly and overcomplicated, considering in real life you have the ability to actually feel the wind, and see the way it blows dust (from bullet impacts) and that sort of thing. In a game, you'd have to have some sort of indicator or wind direction and strength, and keeping an eye on that would really be annoying.

Really? It seems that when Im sniper there is no bullet drop...anyone else notice that?

I seem to be able to hit stuff, and I think its my MX500 mouse that helps me alot
A good tip is to get a proper gaming mouse (and mat), and make sure its on 50hz frequency. Theres some programs out there that will do that for you.
The hit boxes and hit detection seems to be spot on in this. Very difficult to get people at range, you can see the bullets drop, but fighting across streets on city maps, on single shot, you should drop people quickly (if they are in open for too long)

I use the 700 Cordless Logi - - - went into Control Panel to see IF I could adjust the Frequency to 50 as you suggest......could not specifically find that....BUT....did find in Advanced Settings,,,,that it is set to: Sample Rate: 100 reports per second; and Input Buffer Length of 100 Packets.
Would adjusting/changing either of these help or hinder in gaming???

Well I did mine a long time ago, in the days of Joint Ops-Typoon Rising. Will try and dig something out. Can't remember what frequency its meant to be on

Head, body, arms and legs (the latter two probably being one damage multiplier).
Hit them in the head, 3x damage. For any rifle over 33 in base damage, its insta-kill. I havent bother checking, but presumably all PR rifles kill in one headshot.
Something I dont think BF2 have however, is body penetration. For example if you hit the arm on someone from the side, the bullet goes through the body and out the other arm, thus causing body damage instead of arm damage (highest zone it passed through. Joint Operations implemented this in one of the patches and made CQB alot more reliable as infantry was no longer shielded by the "low damage" zones.

So like, exit wounds. Sounds pretty cool, I've never thought about that before.

I made a suggestion a while back to make a more believeable damage system.
It was based on the "critically wounded" and "killed" states. Basically, a lethal shot IRL will not allow the player to be revived. So, a shot to the head, 5 bullets to the chest, 30 to the legs, ... you get the idea.
Would be helpful to limit all this Medic abuse ...

I agree,
A headshot should be instant fatality, no revive. In fact when the medic runs over to the body, there should just be no head there at all, to sort of give him the idea.
LOL, anyway it is annoying when you carefully place a fatal lead insertion into an opponents head, then the medic nukes em and he comes back to life. If anything he should be running around with no head!!

When shooting M24 i have ONLY bullet drops... to the left... right... up.. down... ;]]]

Another player model loaded then? Hmm... how about performance drop?
Hmmmmm but idea is good. Or maybe... model of tombstone? hrhhr

Dunno exactly about hit boxes. Open up prmm in the editor, all the player models are unmodified i think. most likely they are the exact player models.
bullet drop exists in bf2 and prmm. there is a great thread evidencing its existance in the bf2 engine on totalbf2, and i remember testing it in prmm a while ago, the bullets always seem to go down and left a bit at extreme ranges with sniper rifles. may have changed in prmm.2, as we tested it in .1

Well, maybe if the bullet drop could be a little...umm...exaggerated...and then you could return the other things back to normal, that would be a balance solution? Instead of making the power unrealistic, make the bulet drop a little unrealistic. That's what I'd prefer, anyway. Why? Because bullet drop has to be calculated for in your head...

I think that the easy way to fix snipers being overpowering is making them pickup only kits or limiting the class. That way you get a realistic class without having to worry about the entire opposing force looking through sniper scopes.

The only thing I hate about hitboxes is actually when you get hit behind a wall. Not sure if its an animation problem or the code setting.

Yeah, another big problem is the point of view from the avatar. Many occasions I've seen the top of a helmet, and am promptly shot by it ....
Don't know if it is easily done (probably not), but adjusting the point of view from the avatar to the middle of the head would be nice.

Just casue you can't see them doesn't mean they can't see you. You may also have been shot by something else. I do understand what you mean though. Its happened to me too, and I'm sure I've done it to people before.

Ehh, well this was a special case.
It was 1v1 (not many people playing at the time), so I couldn't have been shot by anyone else ... had a dialogue with the person about it too, they could see me fine, but I could only see their helmet.

I hate when you float above terrain that you think your covered by.
