why is F-18 not used in PR?

i was curious as to why the f-18 from vbf2 is not used in PR? i mean considering that thats one of the jets the USMC uses in real life, it would make sense for it to be used on USMC maps. i know that all of the services work together in combat, which is why you see f-16s working with the marines on a map like kashan, but the marines also have theyre own dedicated aircraft. just curious is all, id love to see it make a comeback.

I worked on it in 0.6 in hopes of an 8x8 wake island remake, but idk where that ended up. It needs some tweaking but it could be in tomorrow as far as completion goes.

I wish fighter jets would be removed.
Just keep CAS airplanes like A-10s ,and Su-25s

you do have a point, but f-18s are not strictly fighters they are dual role they have been used much more for bombing then dogfighting

They aren't used like that in this game.
It's always two fighters controlling the skys .
But it would be bad for a frog chasing an a-10

But unrealistic planes isn't reality :/
And when you keep A-10s maybe a mile away from the frontline <== not reality

i actually got to play with a guy who flew the A-10. He was in our squad of Officer, Spec Ops, and Sniper and him (pilot). Officer/Spec ops would be at different areas of kashan calling/lasing targets and he would roll in within 10 secs and destory them. RTB and re-arm and get up again. really fantastic guy.
The one time i got to fly the A-10/Frogfoot, i had a blast, it's just i have trouble landing which usually screws it up in the end.
I'd like to see the Pure Air Interceptor jets taken out (f-16 etc) and replaced with Multi-Role fighters. Something along the lines of 2x Sidewinders and and then 2-6 ATGM/Bombs.

Well the dev cant made 100Kmx100Km map too... And in real life no matter the distance, Air Force would reach the target. Just think to B2 Spirit 44hours mission or Israelian F16 destroying Badgad nuclear central
If you want some realistic fly play Lock On Modern Air Combat, and you will see how hard it can be to just use the radar properly...

ok well the maps are too small for planes that is true, so lets take them away, then helicopters cus the maps are too small for them 2, then tanks. really the maps arent big enough for much, so if you want it to be realistic that is what you will have to remove. i dont think many people would like having all that taken away cus the maps are too small.
