Realistic opinions

I love this mod and like that you are now able to play good games all evenings thanks to more ppl discovering the mod.

I have a suggestion that prmm could be divided into one ordinary part and one extreme version.

The extreme version would be (if you have further ideas please post)

- Not allow respawn once dead
- Not allow more than 1-2 shots to be dead, as it is now there are in some cases even more
- The deviation of the rifle should be correlated to the distance to target and not randomly, i.e you would never miss once you have taken the correct measurement for the distance to target

As it is now it's pretty good, but some players still think it's more arcade than realism and act accordingly. The most important part is to actually encourage people to fight war in a realistic way.

I don't see why these couldn't be put into the "regular" game, would be a good improvement.

A problem with the two "versions" is that it would seperate the fan base, you would have some people playing "vanilla PRM" and some people playing "realistic PRM (sounds kinda funny ... )". For a mod with fewer people, this could be devastating.

the 1 life option and no respawn would just basicly not work with this game. If you want to play a game like that go play AA ;-)

its worth a go though, it hasn't been done. I think the hardcore PR players will love that, but others wouldn't.

AA/CS style rounds (one life) are not feasible in a game with multiple control points and vehicles. That's all there is to it. Sure, you can try it. But you can bet your butt it's going to suck. I'm all for the long respawn times and making lives count, but limiting it to one, simply put, will not work.

I agree, its drastic, but I see still people going rambo, and being generally quite noobish in game. Perhaps the spawn time evident on most of the main servers should be increased even further?

I think it should be increased.

1 minute. Would give the medics plenty of time to try and heal you.

Might not be very good for maps with jets, and to some extent, helos. The spawn camping would get REALLY annoying ... but overall, I think it is worth trying at least. Set it to 1 minute for just one gaming night, see how it is ?

That's another thing. The spawn time is too long on any map that has a ton of vehicles. Reason? You get killed as soon as you spawn 15-40% of the time. For the city maps, I'm all for 45 sec man down time and 60 sec respawn time. I would also like it if we could somehow limit the medics effectiveness to players that have sustained injuries (see other threads).

Ya the 1 live thing is a bad idea. I also agree with whoever said that you shouldn't split up an already small community. It would be suicicadl I think. So I think we should just stick with how it is now. I like you other two points though.

1 life -> like in CS turn based game is bad for BF2/PRM.. too big maps, to many points to capture... one team can just camp in one place with MGs and medics... and end of game...

I liked idea with keeping firstaid pack in hands only.

Maybe the one life bit isn't such a great idea in the system of battlefield 2. If some other element was introduced to the game, objective based or suck, it would work. Increasing spawntime is an alternative, 1 minute minimum in "extreme edition" ;) .

I don't think that shock paddles would be any good either, it's not really realistic to be back at full health because someone electrified you.
