Happened also to me, even in a humvee or in commander's positionable MEC AA (ZPU-4):
Shockpaddle noise if tried to exit, so i was unable to get out from the vehicle/asset in any way

what's happening there is that you can't get out because if you do, you'll be inside a static. Just switch seats until you find one that let's you get out.

I thought that was the sound of an Insurgent hotwiring the car. I awed at the realism, not knowing it may have been a problem. It's a pain to get stuck on the LMGs in VCP on Basrah when a sandbag is built next to it. You have to suicide, get killed or TKed.
