INF-TANK COORDINATION

few days ago , i was playing in fools road , milita side , and we were pushing back the brits useing the tanks and infantry srounding them .

then , i sppoted a HAT squad (they were 1 HAT , 2 riflemans and one suport gunner) and tryed the warn tanks , using only the chat (since they werent in my squad) but as you may guess , it was useless . normaly people dont pay attention to the chat when they are tanking in a hot zone .

so ...this idea come to my mind . in real life , tanks have a telephone in the back , so infantry can talk with the crew and warn them/ give them orderns.

u sugest a system like this:

1.- you spot and enemy , but the tank is not aware of him .
Image

2.- you use your binoculars to call for armor suport (the "request kit" comand becomes a "armor support" when holding the binoculars)
Image

3.- the tank gunner (and maybe the comander too) see the call in his HUD ,with a of distance and the position
Image

4.- then the gunner turn the turret to kill the threat , wich will be marked with a "box" like the one in jets , but this one will not follow the threat , it will be static .

DRIVER/COMANDER - GUNNER COORDINATION

lets face it , sometimes having voip is not enough , IRL when tanks comanders see a targed , they just mark it with the CITV and the turret is moved aoutomaticatly , so the gunnet only have to shoot .

this system is not possible in bf2/PR (AFAIK) so instead i was thinking in a sytem like the one in FH2 manual artillery .

1.- the comander see a target and use left click to mark it
Image
2.- the gunner will have 2 compass , one vertical and one horizontal , they will change acording to where the comander had "clicked" . if possible , this compass can also have dregrees (2 o'clock , 3 o'clock ,etc )
Image

3.- the gunner then will have to turn the turret to mach the compass with the center , and shot at the designated target .

i dont know if all those things are possible , but IMO they can be usefull and will help to imprve the feelein in tanks maps and tank/inf maps .

I'm not sure about the inf-tank one, but the tank commander-gunner one is brilliant. We would at least have something to simulate tank commanders being able to move a friendly's turret

Joking, great ideas, I liked them. If possible, I'd like to see them in game.

Yeah, pointing out targets as Driver like you'd designate CAS sounds good to me.

If an equivalent system exists in RL, i'm all for it

sounds awesome! One of the best suggestions in ages.

no no no, something's wrong here.....Sicario made a good suggestion.

 , I joke I joke!

I think that making a replica of the CAS system for Armour would suffice. So SL's can mark the minimap with "Tanks shoot here kkplx" icons.

Not sure about the point of having to use binocular in order to be able to ask for Armor support. Altho, I do agree with most of what you said.

Also, I would love armor and light transport vehicle to have a speed selector in order to be able to move at the infantry speed.

HOLY AWSOME SUGGESTION BATMAN

love it if we cant do this we should make a commander seat for the tank that works on the same system

I love it. as a tank Driver/Gunner, i hate having to find the target when my driver calls out a heading.

I love how this suggestion is different from the ones we've heard before. Usually they harken back to BF1942 DCX i think that actually had a visual marker on the screen as to where the commander in the tank was targeting something.

I love it, hope its implemented, because this is another thing that would make someone more attractive to dual crew tanking, instead of solotanking. Having a set of eyes to actually give you a visual identifier of where the target is would be amazing.

great idea, this would help with all those times I've had HATs sneak up on me. Great Idea really hope to see it implemented in the future if its possible.

WHat would also be nice is status symbols.
Instead of typing "blah blah blah, then this, then mount up, then dismout", you could have a symbol system.

For example, the driver of a vehicle would press T and have a load of diff commands around the comma rose.
If the driver wanted to Com to INF to take point, he would select the Take point voice com, on the comma rose. Then, a symbol (like the Medic, ammo, wrench symbol) would appear above the armour unit, for INF to see. This symbol would be a simple depiction of the comms from the armour.

Soz for MS Paint...

You could use the compass at the bottom of the screen, unless ofcourse you're not next to the tank.

and for maps with no armor? it should go for APC or scimitar too? And the militia, will they have that much technology on their hands?

I think we can give it to the militia too, they wouldn't have phones on the back of tanks but they could still be in radio contact with the drivers of the tanks.

I must say that the original proposed suggestion is amazing, and will be far more usful than copying the current squad leader-CAS thing, which rarely works.

Tanks need to see an icon in their face showing them where these targetted enemies are. Panning the turret around and hoping for 'I've got lock on' will be as ineffective as it is in the planes.

---

I fly around regularly bombing targets that my VoIP SL is calling out and placing attack markers ontop of; but for other squads, all I hear is "Lasing target now!" - I don't know where that person is on the ground, where the target is, and thus don't know where to approach from, and again, where the target is.

If this system was to be implimented as the Dev, (Jaymz was it?), has suggested, then for both armour and air, it may be an idea to add an icon onto the HUD of where exactly this lazed/marked target(s) is/are.

Good Idea, i hope its possible and its not hardcoded. it should be used on most armored vehicles
