I think .5 was the version where PR got noticed the most by random would be players. I also think that a part of that is due to the awesome trailer that was the .5 trailer( YouTube - Project Reality 0.5 Promovideo ). I dont think anyone who owns BF2 saw that video and didnt rush to the site to check it out. When compared to the .6 and .7 trailer you can see what i mean.

So im asking the DEVs and even the PR community to pull together and make an absolutely awesome trailer to boost the .8 release.

I know we fear all the newbies it would bring on but more people = more servers = greater success.

Absolutely. I whole-heartedly agree with this. See if we can get some teasers for the community mods as well while we're at it.

I was thinking of getting a couple of the BF2s guys to make a teaser. You know, community to community relations. But we can't even rally together to make our own movie nowadays.

We just need a server running .8 and BattleRecorder, passworded (I speak from experience, can't tell you how many fools come on to ruin things), some actors and actresses, directors with admin powers to dispose of any unauthorized smacktardery; and maybe "bouncers" to help the directors.

Yeah Sektor i agree. Some of you already know that i always try to get involved it special events and i would really be down for something like you described.

It reminds me when there was the filmings for the Black Hawk Down movie, almost all the community was in the server following ordens from the Teamspeak and doing a great work.

It is a shame that it never had been finished.

Actually I think we have enough servers lol. The vast majority of PR servers are empty 90% of the time, and there's only a few that are ever full most evenings. I'd rather see fewer servers of a higher quality - if there's 50 gameserver admins in 5 clans, I'd rather they ran two good servers between them than 5 empty or poorly-run ones.

The new-player-syndrome is brief and fades in time; the decent peeps learn the ropes and the griefers and non-realism-fans loose interest and fade away. The overall influx is worth it from a good trailer, definitely.
