YouTube - A10 saves the day
YouTube - A-10 CLOSE AIR!!
After the bullets hit their target u hear the delayed sound from the a10 firing, it gives that warthog name to the test. Any way of implementing that into the a10? Cuz that sounds amazing, i mean its like the sound of death.
This one u can hear it even more near the end

It doesn't need changed...Bad sound samples anyway...Though the distant firing sound of it could be sightly tweaked.

Think this would be already ingame its just because of the distance between the a10 and the target.
This would like the tankshots you also get hit an than you hear the sound. Thats just because the bullets are faster than the sonic.

Resuggestion and please - don't use YouTube for sound effect examples. It's compressed to buggery and sounds nothing like it should. Locking.

Hold the phone Masaq!
I know what you mean ralfidude, about having the sound delayed. This is a feature in the BF2 engine....BUT! It doesn't work for fully automatic sounds (like an A10 cannon

). It only works for sounds that are played once or played in a fixed group.
I'm not sure why EA/DICE did this but I assume it was for performance reasons so that the server/client aren't trying to instantaneously calculate a distance delay for how many full-auto rounds someone fires.

C'mon, no need to post that. Not at all relevant to the thread other than the fact it's got an A-10 in it.

i don't understand this

Well, in 'defense', the video I posted presents the closest i could find, of what this thread represents.
And without the context, that quote means very little.

I really didnt mean anything by the youtube videos that i posted to be more than mere examples of what happens when the a10 shoots. That delayed sound coming from the a10 firing was the only particular aspect i was talking about and the videos were just to show which particular sound i was reffering to in case i was misunderstood.
And whoever brought that other post up form the past, it has nothing to do with this post. On that post i was suggesting to use another mods sound of the a10 to ours, which its not the same, iv tried both planes in both mods and its not.
But this post i was only talking about the second noise u hear after the guns are fired. Seeing as PR has drastically changed the sound effects of gunfights in the distance, imagine hearing that eerie sound after the bullets hit from the a10. In anycase, just a suggestion, nothing more.

@ralfidude: You read my post yeah? It explains why we can't do it.

If you had ever been at a live-fire air show you would know that this muzzle-fire noise is caused by every airplane so besides its not possible to have due to performance reasons. They would have to implement it in all other planes as well.
In my opinion this sound doesn't really matter. If any airplane flanks a few hundret meter in front of you while firing, you won't even recognise it as a sound because its so terribly high and incredibly loud (own experiences with the M61A1/A2 Vulcan 20mm gattling) that you dont even know when it stops firing, your just a few hundreths of a second incapable of thinking and doing anything (anyone else had such experiences like me?).
Anyway, the only thing that would be possible to implement is this screen blur for about a second once the A10 starts firing within a specific range...

you know the thunder effect from Operation Harvest could that atmospheric sound not be replaced with the A10's "Grunt" (the sonic crack of the bullets) or is it not possible to make that a dynamic triggerable sound? or is the peal of thunder always in the same place as a stationary environmental sound? just an idea..
