Other points aside, AFAIK articulated vehicles are not possible in BF2, Wounds.

oi, sweden sure has some outstanding domestic products like besides this the gripen and the stealth boat.. but I doubt this or the other stuff will ever make it ingame.

Thats becasue sweden nearly stands alone and really have allies at war therefore they atleast had to build upa good armory and to get a good armory you should also nearly produce the hardware you want.
But as said I think it will be overkill.

Let's get mortars first! The maps aren't really big enough for artillery!
With a maximum reach of 65 km. the minimum range of that gun is probably in the 20km range!
So mortars please!

Steen

If it was we would have had vikings instead of saxons by now.

we already have a large cab-truck ingame, all we have to do is model the trailer and swing of the turret (which can be done just like a tanks).
and for the artillery.... was it not already part of BF2? correct me if i am wrong but changing the position of the cannons wouldn't have an effect on the ingame explosions other than when you can and can't use them right? as for being mobile, a commander wouldn't be able to use them until deployment.
so in theory, it would be easier than making cake as the components are already in the game. the ONLY difficulty that MIGHT be faced is the trailer, its direction suspension and when reversing. all vehicles ingame have a rigid body, therefore dont have a central "gyrating axle" in the center, none of them. but how hard can it be to implement one into the game? i mean come on! these guys created PR!!!!
so for .8 we'll have these, crewman only (as per the special driving license needed) 30 second swing in deployment and un-deployment and 10 second load/re-load time, unable to fire more than 5 rounds per deployment and must be moved 100m to re-deploy, thus making maps like al basrah fair. sound good?

Yes I'm pritty sure the Devs can do everything you said above, well maybye not the artillary thing but.. It is worth it?, the Archer is not used by any of the forces in PR at the moment and since its Project REALITY i really doubt it will be in.

If you wanted to cheat a little bit, couldn't you just stick an Artillery piece on the back of the Transport truck, and with a little modelling and new skins make it look like an artillery truck? Isn't that what happened with Big Red?

And because Sweden makes some things of that vechile self.

Okay, I'll try again!
Project Reality! This artillery piece probably has a minimum range of 20+ km. so why put it in the game?
Let's get small mortars instead! Their minimum range will be short enough for the big maps!

Steen

The minimum range of artillery theoretically is the length of the barrel. Once they get close enough gunners would switch to direct firing mode, which is more accurate anyways.
