I discovered it to be very useful as a Civi in .6 Basrah. Even more-so now because of the way civi's look more similar to Insurgents. Does anyone else do it?

I've done it once or twice actually intending to. The first time was on Al Basrah healing friendlies defending cache. I took heavy fire and dived into a bunch of other guys, including 3 other Civie's. A tank shell came in and killed us all but he got booted out of the tank.
A sweet moment.

Never done it as a civi, but I've done it from the other side, they all ran past thinking I was dead

A trick used in vanilla as well, but not as often. I might try it next time. I love penalizing Brits when they kill me.

Anything to simulate hostile behavior and make them pull the trigger.

Also guys it's really useful as an Insurgent scout on Archer. Just make sure you have your field dress out and are looking down into the ground.
It's saved my *** many times.

Tell that to those poor lads running around trying to give out field dressings despite being outnumbered by wounded, a few of whom should have spawned civi so that the team's intel, ambush and healing capabilities were satisfactory.

No dressing for you!

Who else is going to heal you, repair your vehicles and get you around the city with a hook? How many kits can be used as a human shield to protect yourself and punish the other team?
Suit yourself, I do like some gunman to save me from an enemy with his cuffs out. Can't tell you how many times Brits run into ambushes with their knives out on Basrah.

You fail, thats not how you should use that kit. That is the nr one reason I don't want the civ class in PR.

Am I the only one who read this thread as "Porn among dead bodies" and was skeptical of the thread contents?

I hope you're not upset.

This is a game for fun, and this a gaming forum to express your opinion, but there is no need to get irritated.
Would Insurgents in real life do anything for their cause? I imagine so, as there are suicide bombers. Who's to say they won't take civilian hostages and force them to help them? Or what if the civilians are doing what they can for their cause, and willingly giving up their lives? They're not counting on the coalition forces to kill the innocent.
A few weeks ago, there was a 60 Minutes bit on a microwave device used against testers pretending to be civilian rioters, throwing rocks and waving signs. This was to simulate situations in Iraq, and to see how the machine would work. A tad off-topic, but civilians do make some noise.
Besides, after making sure everyone's patched up and has gotten where they need to, am I just going to sit in my home and watch the fight, or get out there and serve the purpose of an angry civilian to help my team?
But while playing as British, I'm sure not to throw fragmentation grenades when civis are near. They like to get right into the face of the explosion.

@Cyrax-Sektor
Yes I know its for fun but for me that tactic is ruining the fun.
And I don't think you got many civilians in Iraq that will jump infront of some insurgents to stop a bullet, it really is a bad tactic IRL to stop a bullet with someone elses body, to be honest I think it would be easier to just take cover
And in PR I really hate it beacuse (at least I) find it very unrealistic and is destorying the gameplay, sure its great that you need to think twice before you fire but when you got civilians trying to look like the rest of the insurgents beacuse they want to get shot It just turns very stupied. The civilians should not want to die, they should be as scared of deing as anyone else.
And I agree that the civilians should help there team but not in that way. They should help with healing and fixing cars, getting killed should not be a way of helping your team

tbh you have a point, but this does actually give us random civilians getting in the way like civis can do IRL. So it has its plus side.

Good points brought up. People suggested giving some punishment for civilians dying. Currently, civilians can and will go into line of fire without thinking twice.
If both the civi killer and the civilian were punished, it'd be a little even. But then there are cases of that sniper in the distance who sniped a civi who did nothing, and the shooter couldn't ID his target. Maybe making any civi kills longer than 250m unpunished, as it's hard to ID for the Brit, and it could be an accident.

Not sure if the engine will allow this however.
Whatever route the devs go, we can expect something good.

Civis changed a bit in .75.
P.S. Cover might beat meat shield, but Insurgents don't know that.
