[Help!] BF2 Editor Crashing

Hi,

I've just started learning how to make maps for BF2 and now the editor keeps crashing when ever I try to create a new map. I am using the v3 BF2 editor and I'm using the link found here https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-m ... pping.html as my guide.

In the debugger tool bar I saw multiple warnings like these at startup:
Ignored Warning[Base] : Template with name: UnlockUSAssault already exists. Setting existing one as active.
Ignored Warning[Console] : Unknown object or method!: ObjectTemplate.saveInSeparateFile 1 (objects/vehicles/air/uav_pred/uav_pred.con)

Does anyone have any idea why this is?

The warnings are ok - just ignore them. As for the crashes, just make sure you only save the areas youve been working on, and also give your computer a chance. It often says "not responding" on my computer, but then a couple of minutes later its ok - usually after shuting down web pages etc.

PS youve posted this in the tutorials thread instead of the general modding thread.

Are you using Vista?

The problem is that the editor does not even create a new map. It simply crashes a minute or two into making it.

I am currently using XP, not Vista.

Should I repost or hope a moderator moves this?

What are your system specs? Making an initial map outline is pretty rough stuff for a computer.

Hell, I have what i consider a decent rig[dual 2.8Ghz, 3 gigs of ram, xp, x1950Gt 512 card PCIe] and it STILL crashes regularly. :P

Ill also move this for you
