This has been happening to me a lot lately. I join a server, map ends, and I get kicked to the login screen with a message saying "There was an error reading from the server". I relogin, find the server that I was on to be still OK and everyone that was in it, is still there.
Does anyone else experience this or know why does it occur?

Yeah its been happening to me all after noon also.
Happy to know tis not my crummy connection for once

I'm getting this as well.

EA account servers are bugged or there are just not enough.

this has been happening to me and my clanmates all day on both bf2 and 2142

Yep yep. Happens to the ENTIRE server. Happened on TCC part way through a round too. Disconnected us all, and everyone in my TS to the log-in screen.

This is a big bug (and proberly EA/DICE one)

Happened to me yesterday while playing vBF2 single player(i was testing after i reformatted again). It said there was an error at a gamespy server or something like that.

Maybe EA forgot to pay their damned bill to Gamespy for hosting the log-in servers?


Anyway, whatever it is, it's annoying as hell...

Yeps me too. Anyone else notice that when you log back in it either

A. takes forever to load back in server
B. loads in to 62%, then freezes?

Sarted happening to me this week. Now it happens all the time.

Look, it's pretty obvious. They are upgrading/updating for the new BF2142 patch that fixes bug and gives those players widescreen. So, they mess up logins for all the BF2 players to annoy the hell out of them and maybe make them 'upgrade' (yeah, there's a downgrade if ever I saw one) to the newer more expensive game!

Started happening the other day but I just ended a round and it acted ok.

the strange thing (for me) is that if i get this error and i try rejoininghte server, i get the optimizing shaders thing during the server load which seems abnormal, so i always have to end up clearing my shaders each time it happens. oh well.

Yep yep, happened to me as well. Also been getting system errors but that is just my end I think.

happens to me and my m8´s to since 2 days.

Its typical EA...

I think I have the same problem

I have everything set to high normally

After loging back on from the disconnect to log on screen

i load up a map, and all the shaders are screwy

no shadows, no dynamic lights or textures, everything seems at a low quality setting.


To fix i have to restart BF2 and change my video settings, and then change them back to all high; and it works (until kicked to log in again)

Is there any way that a future release of PR might not need the BF2 login? Stats aren't tracked within the client, so I can't see a need for it for mods. Yes I'm sure its hardcoded... but if problems like this become more common, there may be a way around it. Whats the likelihood?
