lolz you have vista
2 things it could be, 1 cos you have vista is most likely the problem

set the BF2edtiro tto run in XP mode.
the other is that you need more ram.

The editor is very buggy and is crankier than an 80 year old man

The larger the map, the more memory it takes. My map is Al Basrah size and I have 3 Gigs of Ram and it still crashes at times on me, especially when working with undergrowth.
Save your work often bro, and always make sure that you save your undergrowth by itself (never save undergrowth and statics, terrain etc... at the same time)

i had that problem on one of my maps. i had a really long single road running the length of the entire map and i got something similar to that. if you have any large roads, try splitting them up into smaller ones.

I hate vista but it came on the new cp I got. And I am running it in xp mode and as an admin. I also have 2 gigs of ram, dont know if that is enough.
I don't think that vista will let me work the editor so no mapping for me

.

I have vista and its works pretty flawlessly. Except it crashes everytime I exit. lol
I keep the UAC turned off though, wonder if that might have anything to do with it.
Try turning off your UAC if its not already and give it a try.

Same here, but I don“t use it for mapping.

I have vista on my main comp but I didnt even try using it with the editor, so I dusted off my "old" comp for mapping. You could try setting up a partition and installing xp, but this can cause you more work as most things expect to be installed on C: drive.
Also 2 gig of ram isnt much either - Ive got 4gig and it struggles. RAM doesnt cost much these days - it might be worth investing some cash
