It's possible to make a rear view mirror, much like the rear view we can see on airplanes. Might be difficult however.

In general this is true. Things like a commander truck should be able to have guys in the back shoot out the sides. The problem, I think, is the player models. What would they look like when they move in ways people shouldnt be able to?
