ok I just thought of this one in school.
You know how everyone is saying change the Spec Ops kit to something different? Would it be feasible to change it from Spec Ops to Recon because that's really it's main purpose, along side of destroying assets. It makes more sense because its not a soldier from the SOF community, more of a grey force instead of a black force. What you think?

Would scare away noobs and vanilla kiddies if its named Recon, and that is good :D

There are 2 specops kits on a 64 team (IIRC). Who cares who uses those kits and how they are used? Its not like it has a huge impact on the entire team if someone uses this kit to charge into combat with

Spec Ops carry C4 and a like though, not snipeh scopes etc. Really the recon is only one part of a spec ops mission undertaken by the same units as well often, making a recon and observation post ahead of a spec ops manouvre / contact.

Special Operations fits the class perfectly...and spec Ops is just short for that...

Not on maps with multiple targets and no resupply, 2 spec ops have enough explosives to render several bridges useless and still destroy bunkers/CPs that are behind enemy lines.

the kit is useful, not the be all an end all of the game.

In my opinion, the Spec Ops kit is just like the engineer's kit with more equipment (and a more appealing name). Having more explosives a few extra field dressings is useful at times, but other than that, they're practically the same kit.

Really, all we need to do is give the Combat Engineer some SLAMs instead of a shotgun, give the shotgun to the iron sight rifleman, and grant the Spec Ops kit a parachute for HALO jumps.

This kit rearrangement would place more importance on the irons rifleman, make the Engineer a more viable and less coveted demolition kit than Spec Ops, and give Spec Ops (or Recon, whatever you care to call it) the kind of mobility they deserve. Only then can Spec Ops truly be called Recon and live up to that name in any sort of way.
