splash damage takes care of any inconsistency's in the accuracy department

I wouldn't be surprised if it could lock onto infantry. Like tanks, they are heat sources (albeit smaller and cooler).

I'm not exactly sure what you me by "supposed to be used", if your referring to ingame or irl but,

I was never frontline infantry, just SF(mp's for anyone not in the chairforce) in the USAF for a brief time in the service, and now working for a Local Police Station back in the States, but trust me none of my training with the Shotgun was for breaching doors. Door opening is not why we carry them in the cars either.

I know what your getting at with the Door Breeching but if I have a shotgun in my hands and there is someone shooting at me, I am going to use it. The shotgun as a weapon holds a very high psychological threat to the person on the other end.

... I think I almost fell out of my chair for this one. Truely, if you breach a door (With 00 Buckshot and not slugshot, hopefully by v0.8 they'll actually change this and make the shotgun practical.) your not going to switch weapons just to put somebody down, your gonna' use what you have in your hand already. And might I add, a shotgun is quite effective in CQB.

And if a shotgun isn't considered a close quarter weapon, I'll go right back to playing Rainbow Six Three: Ravenshield and start plugging terrorists with a USAS-12 out of spite.

Only thing your not supposed to use on another human being is the battering ram S.W.A.T. team's use. But then again, who know's about that one. I'm sure someone tried to open the door one day and got laid out cause they didn't do it fast enough. Ha!

I'm afraid you didn't get his point.

He meant that:
The shotgun in the game is there to breach doors and not to shoot people.

That's why it has no sights and uses a slug.

i remember the shotgun in the old days. when it was to use against infantry. it was a pretty good weapon. the suggestions then where. ''cant we make the shotgun better. because it is so IRL '' then the next patch. they removed the shotgun against infantry and made it against doors..,,

We don't have a SWAT team but our Ram here at the department is a heavy S.O.B. and it would do some major damage (broken ribs, internal bleeding) if you took a blow to the chest.

I want the AA-12. :p j/k

YouTube - AA-12. World's deadliest shotgun!

I wonder how iron sight shotties would look in BF2.

About time shotguns are given a modern day twist. But it's not much different in appearance than the Daewoo USAS-12 which most likely came before the AA-12. Suprising how a South Korean car manufacturer had produced the weapon the AA-12 was most likely modeled after and perfected.

The AA-12 is obviously new, but clearly going to be something remembered for the ages. Imagine that... A 12 gauge automatic grenade launcher. Scary stuff.

Thank you for bringing it to the spotlight. I appreciate new cutting edge technology, that thing's certainly a beast.

The AA-12 was developed in the 1970's, they said that right in the video. It was just updated.
