Serious now, pr is going low, very low. you guys made the manual for nothing, every new guy that is coming, doesnt read it! why am i getting crazy? because of the guys who dont play PR! they play vanilla in PR! they shoot walls for nothing, crash air vechiles, and the guys who play serious dont get a chance to play a real good game. the first time i played, i didnt even know the difference between a bunker/firebase. i learned it in the damn manual. if a new guy asks it now, everyone says, the firebase is a tent lookalike, NOOOO! wrong, you have to say: Read the manual, thats why they made it! thats why PR is going low/down! same with the rules on a server. some guys are blind. Rules: Maturity, everyone who plays, 'Wtf? H0ax, omg, you nooooob, go play vanilla', Huh?! the guy who says:'Go play vanilla' most be kicked! i want to say with this topic, please get the server rules back and be more aggresive! don't be afraid too talk in the mic and say read the manual if you dont know how that/this/it works! i really miss the good games with: Air squad, where the air vechiles are reserved for, but if you make an air squad now, squad 1 takes it, were 1 guy solo in a tank, 2 guys are infantry, 1 in us outpost, the other in south village, and the squad is locked.

Isnt it better to say what he asks for and then say he should read the manual. REally if you act like a Di.... you will only get di....s in PR.never do like this:

I can agree I dont read manuals very often that follows with games, I did with PR though.


I really dont like the attitude to some of the vet Players. The lack of selfinsight and acts all like I have been here since 0.5 I am 1337. What you forgot was that some of you that now is whining over vanilla players asked the same questions as nobbs do now.

But i just miss, that this is a reality mod. And it feels so good when u play a good game with voip. and then you totally flip when someone asks stupid things/or shoot walls and stuff.

If someone asks a question, answer it or shut up. Theres no need to be a ****

I don't usually read the manuals for games that much. But as I was waiting for it to download, I came on here to get some tips before I played. Then I noticed that the main thing that people were saying to do was read the manual. So I did and, I went and played, asked some guy, helped a little bit and went and read the manual again.

Seriously it is a great source of information and maybe there could be some idea into implementing something that you have to read before you can continue installation or something?

I think that maybe there should be the Training Mini-Mod included in the latest patch. That might help with all the people crashing the air vehicles and so on.

Just what I think for the moment.

americas army had a great system were you cound only get in the servers that you had done the training for .iv no idea if the bf2 engine could do the same but would be a great thing to add to pr if it would be possible ?

Thats what i mean maz.uk, so you dont get guys that crash air vechile's.

Its there choice to read it, you cant make them. help them out in each and every way and let them learn. No reason to make a thread a yell about in. Calm down and post when your not in a rage.

I haven't been playing PR since 0.4 and started playing again 10 days or so ago. I tried to read the manual, but apart from the sheer mass of information I noticed, that you have to learn most things by doing/playing.
Of course I was lucky to be a member of -=TB=-, so I had plenty of guys to explain to me how the mod works, and I think that this is exactly what most new players need: No giant Manual and no tutorial videos (they are long, boring and of course you want to start playing the game), but VOIP-Instructions from people who know how things work - Clanmembers like 10th, TB, iGi, LP and all the others I don't know yet.
Maybe it would be a good hint for every new player, not only to read the manual, but also to ask squadmembers what to do, how things work. This takes time and a good community, but I think it pays out very much in the end.

A mini-SP-Mod for training would be great I think.

Answer their question as quick as you can so you don't lose out on precious game time (not suggested in the heat of a battle however ). After answering the question, 'read the manual, it helps'.

You helped a new beginner and guided him/her to the manual. You've done a service to the community, we'll have less accidents. They either adapt or leave, but that's for them to decide. You are in control of what you type, before hitting Enter, make sure it doesn't come off as offensive.

I've been playing since 0.4-0.5, so I never had to read the manual.
But if I downloaded PR today, I can guarantee that reading the manual wouldn't be the first thing to do. I know that the manual is very helpful for new players, but it really needs to be published more if you want it to take effect.

I suppose the OP hates me, never touched the manual. What do you want from the PR Team? More aggressive server rules? That's the community's job, and even if you do have rules against newbies, what the heck? People will just leave PR and not even bother to read the manual if you do that.

Telling people to piss off and go read the manual is just as bad in my eyes as being a newbie who does NOT want to learn. My suggestion: Be friendly to the newbie next time and look if he will react friendly, if not, then just be quiet and don't help him.

The installation creates a PDF manual on user's desktop. Should be enough if the people are actually willing to read it .

Cant all the new members just join clans?

If all players are in clans, then that would solve our problem.

I dont know if this has been posted before in this forum, but ive thought alot about it. And if players are part of a larger system, then they get indoctrinated into tactics. Squadleading and playing generally is easier with Ppl from clans, they are used to take orders, and also has a general idea of how to cover and such...

Just a thought.

-I've been toying with the idea of setting up a restricted server where only pre-approved players can join(Basically, everyone's banned by default). The server would focus on teamwork and realism, joining it means you intend to do so, not doing so gets you kicked/banned, etc, etc.

PR is a BIG mod for BF2. >500 players prime time. Draws attention from the vBF2 ranks as we speak...

The Problem arent the noobs who wanne learn and play the game.

I have helped so many guys who really wanne learn it, and it worked. After one or 2 rounds he played in the sq, knows what to do and so on.

But yesterday i have a couple of guys, the wasted all they can find and dont even try to follow the orders we gave them. What to do with such guys?

Let me explain. We played quingling. my and my pilot waited for the a chopper. So we were able to see this great noob show...

the guys wanne fly the transport chopper. First they died a couple of times, because the requested the pilot kit but dont picked it up.. We explained them how it works, inclueding warm up time and so on. They jumped in, full trottle, rollover, all down.

Next time het jumped out when the choppers fall to the side. I get in and put it on weels back for there next try.

But the dont wanne make what we told them, rollover, dead...

Then after 3 times of get killed by try to get the chopper in the air, he walked to the jet. We said no plz dont do this, but to late, full trottle straight in the wall and boom again.

What we have to do with such guys?

Explain again? Wait 20 min for the next try of waste an toy we need to win? Or try to kick or ban them?

I have nothing against noobs, we all were starters @ this game, but make what you want even when you dint know what to do... thats to stupid to talk with this guys longer...

Explain it, dont kick and ban them.Everyone here started out the same way. I have brought several players to play the mod the right way. And if you didnt want him in jet till him to go on a local and pratice.
