Use of landmines

This thread is dedicated to the community mods leaders.

For the beggining , a bit of history.

Acording to Globalsecurity.com:
The 1997 Mine Ban Treaty, which banned the use of antipersonnel landmines and was signed by 155 states but not by six major armies, China, India, Israel, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Since the british army is introduced into PR , the landmines are not realistic anymore. I propose that the next community mods to be included into PR (except Russia and Israel) don't include landmines on any kits , after all we eliminated the Claymore , lets finish what we stated !

I think your confusing the issue, anti-personel mines, used against people are banned and aren't in PR to my knowledge. Anti-tank mines, used against vehicles aren't, to my knowledge, banned and are in PR.

Apologies if its me thats got my facts wrong.

Moreover, I'm pretty sure the Chinese, if fighting GB, wouldnt go:

"Meh, I guess since he's not gonna we prolly shouldnt use claymores. Its only fair. But what are we gonna do with all these crumpets we bought as bait?"

I bet the Brits use anti-tank mines, hell, I use anti-tank mines. But whenever a unit leaves the AO, it's usually commonsense to disarm the mine. Let me put it this way, if you leave a mine in your former AO, and the next day a "civilian" vehicle detonates, the media makes you look like a bunch of heartless barbaric beasts. But no, anti-tank mines are used.

Remember this thing called asymmetrical balance? Maybe we could use the UK's ban on anti-personnel mines as a way of balancing the faction against an opponent with AP mines - maybe claymores or a Norinco clone for the others.

With this said: America, Chinese and MEC should have Claymores... Give the brits some other advantage, but please, getting Clays 3/4 times would be awsome =D

Rambo used a claymore in Rambo 4. Claywhore nailed at least 4. :o

Maybe give Insurgents cheap claymores? They know no rules.

Maybe claymores that have a 35% chance of detonating the wrong way, or not detonating at all. :shrk:

AFAIK claymores are allowed to be used as long as you manually detonate them. And we had those in 0.5
