Infantry Only Night.

Tactical Gamer will be hosting a Infantry Only night on the server. 5 Jeeps and 5 Support trucks will be available immediatly when the round starts. From there, it is up to the FB's and bunkers for vehicles.
Here are some details.
When: 24 May 2008
Time: 5 pm CST
Maps: Kashan Desert, Qwai River, Battle for Qinling, Operation Ghost Train, EJOD Desert, Daqing Oilfields, Kyong ni'....
Rules: Each side will spawn with 5 Transport trucks and 5 Support trucks. Building Firebase's and Bunkers will be essential for additional vehicles. All other TG PR rules will still be enforced.
I would also like to send a thanks Fuzzhead for modifying the server files so we can get this set up. I hope to see you all there.

I'd take out Qinling and Kashan and substitute in Bi Ming and Al Basrah. I predict a bad game, no offense, on a 4km map without transport. With the loads of armor, transport and aircraft already in there tends to be a problem.

Viper, there WILL be nothing except 5 Jeeps and 5 CO Trucks available. Fuzzhead has modified our server files for that night.

i have played quinling with mostly infantry (by which i mean nearly all players on foot) and it was awsome. lots of open ground, a sniper's wetdream.
And kashan 16 is extremely popular, and would be better without the transport helis imo.

I know. My point was that in the normal version there is often a transport problem. Now you're reducing the amount of transport, which will only increase the problem. Once those initial vehicles are down, we're talking a maximum of what? 4 bunkers/firebases and 1 CP per team. Lets take Qinling. That means at most they will have transport for 20 people (4 Land Rovers, 1 CO Truck). This leaves 12 people walking. And that is assuming all assets are used and maintained. Its slight better on Kashan as HMMWVs house 6, but still.

They wont be being blasted to high heaven by heavy assets though, as in a normal game.

Right, but it is still going to result in hours of walking, then engagements where you're going off of luck because at those ranges there is no skill, its just praying for deviation to go your way. Playing the 16 player wouldnt be bad, but the 64 is going to empty the server.

He knows that, hes talking about Quinling.
I also have to agree that Quinling is gonna end up badly. The engagements are gonna be few and far between. The CPs arent at all good for infantry fighting thanks to Rhino's terrain extremities in map design. (pretty much every mapper does that **** as well). Just not enough boots on the ground to make it an infantry friendly map.

Download the Light Combat Files, it's pretty much the same thing and we occasionally run it on our server. Check jonny's sig for the download link.

Which means it needs to be added by DEVs, Only by copying and pasting but it has just not happened for some reason.
Isn't there a file to fix it?
Anyway it shouldn't matter, it's a good idea and it's obvious people in the community like the idea so why shouldn't the Dev's include such a simple change into the next release? I know it's their mod and they may not like that style of play but I don't remember any Dev's showing up when we tested it out.
