how and if its possible, do you increase the damage done to the cobra cannon?

next question, how do you change the effects for the explosion of the cannon?

kinda like how you guys did it for PR

thanks

I am changing the cannon impact effect now. :) What did you have in mind?

As for the damage, I assume its in the weapons .tweak file, but I am not sure.

i think for the first question you change the Explosion Radius in the .tweak file

go to the cobras .tweak file and alter the damage variable for that weapon...

as for the explosion effect. well, if there is any particular effect from another place in the game, say a tank explosion (just as an example), well just go to the tweak file and spend like 10min to find the area in the code that deals with that, now go to the tanks .tweak file and find the effect there and copy/paste it into the cobras .tweak file (overwriting the lines it had for the gun effect there).

I did something similar a little while back, this started out as the cobras hydra rockets, and now I call it a flak cannon. (still have the sound of the cobras rockets :) )

well, there are many different ways to change the "damage" of a weapon.

The most obvious one being the base damage often labled as "damage"... what we need to keep in mind is that there are several things that affect the actual damage delt when it hits something, for instance the range.
There is a variable for that as well, called something like 'damage over range' or something to that effect.

Now there are other things such as "radius" of damage/explosion, and "force" too. Force is mostly the effect on the object that gets hit. for instance if I was shooting a rifle at a jeep, the jeep wont be pushed back, but if I was fireing a tank or placed some C4 on there, it will move ;) thus the "force" of a tank shell is higher than a rifles, I havent tested if the force actually affects the damaged delt though.
The velocity might also have an effect on the damage, but I havent tested it.

EDIT:

here are some of the stuff that I think will alter the damage (at some level)

explosive objects:
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionMaterial 55
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionRadius 3
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionForce 10
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionDamage 200

bullet objects:
ObjectTemplate.minDamage 1
ObjectTemplate.damage 300
ObjectTemplate.distToStartLoseDamage 600 <--- that was the variable I was talking about
ObjectTemplate.distToMinDamage 1000 <-- at this range the damage will be ObjectTemplate.minDamage

common:
ObjectTemplate.velocity 400

1)open .tweak files with NOTEPAD
2)ensure that the .tweak are not read-only

:)
