New to PR

I have been playing BF2 for the longest time simply because I thought it was the only modern ware-fare setting with vehicles that offered up some, albeit extremely watered down, realistic aspects.
But BF2 never brought me teamwork or the realism I was looking for(and by realism I mean the necessity of teamwork, strategy, and tactics). It only brought me 15 guys spamming E for a jet and no one wanting to go capture points.
So imagine my surprise when I saw Project Reality on File-planet. I wasn't really aware of how popular a mod PR was, so I felt a bit stupid when I only first discovered its existence yesterday.
Regardless, I was wondering if I could ask a few questions:
1) I know this is a realism mod, but are there still the jag-offs who wait hours on end for vehicles?
2) Do people actually use strategy, and more importantly, teamwork, to accomplish the objective? No more 30 player lone-wolfs off fighting the battle alone?
3) One thing I enjoy is using a transport helicopter and ferrying soldiers to the front lines: is this more common in PR or the same as BF2...completely useless?
4) Are there any plans on implementing the CH-47 Chinook? (I saw the Huey, awesome job)

1) It makes players (try) to value their vehicles and do everything they can to keep them alive
2) Yes
3) Yes but u may need to practice flying on a local server beforehand since flying in PR is VERY different from bf2
4) one of our community members, icekiller is working on one right now,

1. Yes, you'll find people sitting about waiting, but it's usually the long spawntime that they're there. You won't find 12 guys clustered there for the jet, as they fly differently from vanilla. Most newbies just crash the jet before taking off. This deters the new players from flying usually.
2. Yep. Some servers make joining squads mandatory. People get kicked if they don't join a squad. Tactical-Gamer and thebattlearena have this feature.
So people will try to work together to accomplish an objective. You'll find the people that just rush the flag. Sometimes it works, sometimes a tank blasts them to smithereens. Lone wolf types can be found, but are rare. Sniper and spec-ops are usually loner kits, so they're excused.
3. Heh, it's the complete opposite from vanilla where you get in a BH, dash to the spot and ditch it. Transport is useful, and like in real life. Very fun if you're the transporting type. Helis fly differently as well, read the manual to find the changes.
4. Oh yes, it's being worked on by radon_ice_killer. It will be in a future release of PR.

Hi as cyrax sector has said that som eservers run squad less=kick.
Well TacticalGamer and battlearena isnt the only ones or the player base is so good that its not really needed.
Somer servers that is fun to play on:
.:iGi:. (of course)
TActics and Teamwork
10th moauntain
Thors brigade
[RIP]
The pr experience also depends on the time of the day, Early in the day=all the vbf2 noobs but you can be lucky ofc. Late in the day= is more serious players but you can be unlucky.

Must say i prefere Tactics and teamwork, too bad it is almost always filled up. So sometimes you just have to wait, keep refreshing and watch it go to 63/64 and spam join!
You will not find all those noobs here, ofcourse there is those "exploding teammates fun geeee" but they are becomming rather endangered.
This is the closest to realism that you come in my opinion.
Though I strongly recommend following : Read Manual, Download Training map (you can find it if you type training map in search), get a mic, join squads and follow orders.

The thing about waiting for a good server to open up is that its worth it even if you're staring at a screen for 10 minutes cause the loading times are so high that once you get in game you're invested in that server, so if its a crappy one then you will be wasting more time than that 10 or more minutes waiting for T&T or TG or whatever to open up.
