[Question] effects question

okay, so i got PR .75 installed and im impressed, i REALLY dig the effect for the cobra gun and i was wandering, which effect do you guys use to make that? And if its possible, would i be able to put the effect into VBF2 cobra?

You will need to copy the adequate lines from the PR exp_medium_20mmshell.tweak or something like that in to the right vbf2 files. These can be found in the objects_sever.zip/effects/weapons/muzzleflashes in PRscase. I am not on my computer at the moment so I can't be more precise. I will post back in a little while. :)

okay, Alex, i have the objects_server opened. which one is it, 25mm or 35mm? and could i just copy the tweak file into vbf2?

-The effect you are looking for is in:

objects_server.zip/effects/impacts/explosions

of PR mod and its called:

e_exp_medium_20mmshell

-What you want to do is copy this into:

objects_server.zip/effects/impacts/explosions

of BF2 mod


-Then:

Open your cobra tweak file in:

objects_server.zip/vechicles/air/ahe_ah1z

Find these lines:

rem ---BeginComp :D efaultDetonationComp ---
ObjectTemplate.createComponent DefaultDetonationComp
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionMaterial 87
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionRadius 3
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionForce 2.5
ObjectTemplate.detonation.explosionDamage 75
ObjectTemplate.detonation.endEffectTemplate e_exp_small
rem ---EndComp ---

And change:

ObjectTemplate.detonation.endEffectTemplate e_exp_small

To:

ObjectTemplate.detonation.endEffectTemplate e_exp_medium_20mmshell


That should work, If you want to do it for any other aircraft you will have to change the same line in its tweak file.

But you won´t be able to join a server with a modified effect, I assume this is for singleplayer/your own mod?

nevermind i got it to work, i just saved it to desktop and copied it to the ah1 folder and it worked great. so, could i also do the same for the m1a2 abrams cannon?

Sure, if your talking about the explosion you just have to do the same as before but in the tanks tweak file.
