You need to hold the cross hairs on the target for like a few sec before the sniper will shoot accurately enough to kill

Also the weapons aren't lasers; you need to compensate for enemy movement and, at long range, drop. There is also a certain amount of inaccuracy in each weapon regardless of range. You'll always be more accurate though while prone.

Take a breath before you shoot, dont move the gun too fast or too often, and especialy with sniper rifles, dont forget the bullet drop, as already said.

The sniper rifles currently take some time to zero. Even if you move your crosshair, you'll receive some drastic deviation that will cause you to miss. It's gotten to a point where the average player (me and many) will drop the rifle for a deadly accurate marksman kit.
If you can withstand the wait time for the scope to "zero", all the power to ya. Just take out the HAT kits before their rocket leaves the launcher.
^^ I think we all felt that way in the beginning.

count slowly to 3, or quickly to 5 or 10, and then fire. At the very least, wait one second.
Fire, wait one second, fire, wait one second, etc...
(Actually, I like the sniper rifles... just sit out there on the plain in Kashan, and pick off people from ~750m as they build their nifty firebase.....)

thx for the tip....and i was pretty skillful in BF2..KD usually above 10..and now i come to PR....got owned...something like use 2 mag and kill nothing..using rocket and kill myself(there was a wall infront of me but i aim the rocket a little above the wall..)..

Yea, with the rockets its very important to wait quite some time. If you have enough time, you could play around on an empty server or a LAN server to test the accuracy and stuff and get used to it. There is also a training map around here somewhere, i heared that its quite good. There is a singleplayer-mod too, you'll find it in its own forum section. Shooting bots is good to learn.

Dont fire while moving or shortly after moving

I doubt all the people who suggested a solutions to the problem could even hit an object at 500m away with a sniper rifle.

Their suggestions are based on the knowledge they have regarding how the current system works, not necessarily on how much experience they have using the kit.

Biggest thing is to not move while firing. Dont even aim and sidestep if you want to be accurate. Sometimes you just gotta fire down range and sidestep, but most times, crouch or go prone, aim, stop moving, wait a second and fire. Dont be in a rush, a big part about getting hits is not rushing. You get in the moment and think youre waiting but youre really just popping off round after round. Like they said, take a breath, hold still, fire.

1. Drop that Sniper System for an LMG
2. Point in general direction of the enemy
3. Hold down the trigger for a nice, short, controlled burst of oh, lets say, 50-75 rounds
4. ???
5. Profit!
Seriously now, they're right, for anything more than suppressive fire you need to take your time lining up your target. Oh, and don't forget to take the time it takes for the bullet to travel to the target into account, otherwise you'll never hit someone on the move (and why sprinting in a zig-zag fashion to the nearest cover is often the best thing to do when faced with a sniper. Or even just a couple of guys with ARs engauging at 150m+)

I think you've got all the answers you wanted. For further reading, there's also a thread on the sniper rifle accuracy already in the "Bugs" section:

That has nothing to do with this thread, though. And remember, there is a possibility of getting warning points for "useless/unhelpful post content", and I think this would qualify.

then what would you do if a enemy sniper is already aim at you..and you use a wall to take cover..the only way you can aim him is move side way abit then shoot him before he shoot you..

He'd have to move his sights, too, so he'd be inaccurate as well.
You could try putting rounds down and give covering fire while others move up and take him out while he's got his head down.

Well, if there's cover when you're prone, slowly inch to a window/viewpoint, wait for deviation to settle, stand up from prone, fire, step sideways into cover. You can prone into cover as well. Sometimes, it's better to just stand there and keep firing, as it takes time for deviation to settle, and you could've been spotted by someone else eager to kill you.
That way, deviation could settle and you're still safe.

If you've been seen as a sniper you should probably be relocating rather than trying to fight it out tbh.
An if you're a normal infantry man and you know you're pinned down, you shouldn't be popping your head up trying to get a lucky shot, ask your squad to try and supress the sniper and allow you to get to better cover or pop smoke and leg it.
One of the thing you have to accept in PR is not every engagement is going to be a fair fight and your not going to win them all.

In fact, in the real world, armies take drastic steps to avoid a fair fight. To be brutally simple, fair fights get people killed. This is why commanders try to choose their battles - specifically, the most unfair fight in their favor that is available to them - rather than clashing head-on as you might see in Hollywood.
The same logic appears in the mind of a good PR sniper. The whole point of camouflage and a long-range weapon is to have the opportunity to choose the most unfair fight in the sniper's favor - choosing the battle, rather than fighting fairly and to the death for glory and honor. When the fight becomes 'fair', a good sniper retreats, rather than being captured and emasculated by the enemy.
