A few questions related to the .8 release

Hey everyone, I simply had a few questions about some features that are going to be in the new release, and would greatly appreciate it if someone could answer them.

First off, will there be fastropes? (Nahh, just kiddin)

-I love the cammo skin for the U.S. Army. Is there a "woodlands" version as well (assuming that the U.S. get a map with forests)?

-I've heard talk about the possible inclusion of a Bradley IFV for the Army forces. Is there any plans/anything in the works for a Bradley?

-Is Muttrah v2 going to be a Marine map? (I would assume it is, as there is an aircraft carrier, and that usually means marines)

-Will the new Humvee carry as many people as our current one?

-Are there any plans on removing any maps or changing the layout of some (for example, Kashan going to the U.S. Army)?

And finally, any plans on seeing some more stuff for the Brits? :-D

Thanks guys
~Cody

Good thing you're just kidding :D

ACU (US Army camouflage) is a universal camo used for all types of surroundings. So the answer is no.

I'm quite sure we'll hear of Bradley. Just wait for more news updates.

I'm pretty sure it'll be USMC for the reason you have stated.
Corporal Cody wrote: -Will the new Humvee carry as many people as our current one?
I'm sure the devs won't go any lower than 6 seats (1 squad).

Kashan will be 100% US Army.

No idea, but I would say yes.

The new humvee might only carry 5 as thats the only way i can see it making sense, 4 seats and a gunner. Remember people the Brit's light transport(the land rover) only has 3 seats so we should consider our selves lucky.

Yes, but 2x3=6.

What I'm trying to say is, that if you take 2 Landies you can transport one full squad.

If the Humvee would have only 5 seats then 2x5=10 => 1 full squad + 4 additional blue-mob members. I prefer to avoid it.

Aright but your missing the point. Where would the sixth guy sit? On the drivers lap? Or with his head in the gunners crouch?

That's because the 6th person is thrown in the trunk of the HMMWV; most certainly it'll be the squad leader.

Seriously though in real life the HMMWV has 4 seats and a gunner as the 5th position. You can't cram more in there and won't be realistic to do so.

If there is a US woodland map, i would assume another ACU skin which has more mud and less dust would be used

-I've heard talk about the possible inclusion of a Bradley IFV for the Army forces. Is there any plans/anything in the works for a Bradley?

There is probably a very good chance the USI Bradley will be kindly donated to PR.

At a guess:
-New L85 with Susat and AG36
-New minimi para (If its coded in time)
-Tornado GR4 (Donated from OPK)
-Harrier (If its finished)
-SA80 Bayonet (Used as a knife though, not as a bayonet)
-New L86 (If it's finished)

Other stuff (Guess):
-M16A4 with Agog and M203
-New RPG twenty something for MEC LAT
-New chinese HAT (pf98?) maybe?
-Taleban(?)
-Blackhawk reskin
-New Militia skins
-G3SG1

Whatever is included, the devs are doing a great job and .8s gonna be pretty damn awesome.

Paperchase wrote:The thing is that back in 2005, the Army threw out all of their old Woodland BDUs for the new Army Combat Uniform (ACU) in the Universal Camouflage pattern. Don't let that grey color fool you - it works okay in all environments. (But I'd prefer the Army to use Multicam instead)
But perhaps they made one variant of the ACUs with dust and sand, to make it look like it was used in the desert, and another version caked with mud and grass stains, to make it looked used in a woodland setting.
That's how I did my ACU skins a while back.
