So pretty much, i searched for this, didnt find anything rally helpful, so here goes:
So your gunning a cobra, and you suddenly fall to the ground seeing your pilots name and disconnected after it. So then you switch to pilot seat and depending on how long it took for you to switch, for this i'll say 4 secs, so it takes 4 secs for the engine to 'warmup' rather than 30, meaning you can actually survive and not waste a whole asset. Same goes for all helis. If this is implemented already, ignore me im a noob, but everytime this has happenend to me, ive crashed and burned, quite literally.

When they implant that then there is seat switching again.
You just had bad luck thats all. And usually when you fly at 600 alt you can take control again.
But i think the respawn time should be reduced.

That missed the point Mora is trying to make, Johnny - that this would enable solo helicoptering again.
All a player would have to do is get in with a pilot kit, idle for 40 seconds, take off. Then they'd be able to switch to the gunner seat, attack ground targets and then switch back to the pilot seat - and not have the warmup period.

In that case tbh, 5 would be enough as the heli normally spins.

Hmm i see what you guys are saying, but i mean its very annoying, even if you are in the LB on kashan, flying semi low, and your pilot is disconnected, then IRL you would be able to assume control(hence the control stick in front of you) so there wouldnt be a 30 second wait.

Why do people make useless comments like this? Or maybe I'm just assuming that it's common sense that people should know in real life both the pilot and copilot seats can take full control of the helicopter. :\

Please do it devs!
That along with the quote below is all that is needed to cover the exploits and I think that it's possible since isn't that how it was in vbf2?

That's what i'm saying, it's too difficult if your pilot CTD or disconnects. I mean the argument is not real doesnt work here, cos in real life, a pilot doesnt just disappear or crash to desktop...

Who the hell wants to waste their pointless life flying into the battlefield, hover, switch to gunner, press 2 for cannon, shoot 10 rounds of, switch back to pilot seat, get control of the tipping helicopter, back up and start again. Shouldn't they be drinking at a bench than solo flying a heli in game?
First of you are the easiest target for AA's
You can't hit jack with missiles unless they are lasered.
For this to function you have to be low flying to see any enemies, after you spot a infantry you have to hover up a bit - clean hover = Which just makes you tank dinner.
Helis can't be soloed unless you find a way to land heli in the air OR land at the ground at a high hill, go gunner and fire - but who wants to do that and become food for any HAT/LAW/50./tank/apc and such?
Although I kinda like the "downtime".. Once I accidently pressed (E)ject from a great altitude, my gunner wen't like, DDDDUUUUUUuuuuddeeeeee.e.e..eee.... Luckily I fell faster than the cobra and was capable of getting back inside the helicopter in free fall, holding down W, the cobra didn't tip or anything and after 10 or 15 sec I had it back in control.
Ofcourse I said sorry, don't give me those pesky eyes

Do you really think in real life the pilots get disconnected?
