F-15E might make a comeback, no reason why not other than at the moment there is no map that the DEVs feel it belongs on. The F/A-18 is a carrier based fighter in real life and would be unrealistic to use it from an air force style ground base. So seeing as there is no carrier in PR, i dont think we will be seeing the F/A-18 anytime soon.
Hope that helps.

Its not technically a carrier its an assault ship. To small to support jets AFAIK.

Start making some 4km+ maps guys and we see more jets

C'mon guys, the F/A-18 doesn't fly solely from carriers... the reason is as Fuzz states; there simply aren't enough 17km^2 maps to include all the air assets. Kashan has the US Army on it, Qinling has the UK. The F/A-18 would be most likely to appear on a USMC map of that size.

Marines don't fly Hornets off carriers.

That is not a carrier. That is a Marine assault ship
as seen here....
This is a CVN class carrier....
The CVN class of ship is the
only class that can launch full size fixed wing aircraft(other than jump jets), such as the F/A-18. PR does not have that class of ship and it would take a really long time and a lot of work to get it in game.
EDIT: So Marines fly their F-18s off of land bases? That kind of defeats the purpose of the
Marine Corps.
EDIT 2: Here is a Marine hornet on deck....
Again, im not saying they dont fly off of land, because they do, but what im saying is in the kind of conflict represented in PR it would be unrealistic to have them flying from land bases. But w.e the DEVs shall do what they see fit and compromises must be made i suppose

Thats right Navy does, but still i don't think we will ever see a Navy faction so USMC will fill the role.

Doesnt the Marine have any Naval Air Bases? maybe forward set-up Naval Air bases for example in Turkey when they launch an attack on idk what country. You could use some sort of excuse in the Map description..

I think so. I think some Marine F-18s fly out of Kuwait in support of OIF, but i can be wrong.

Marines have bases all over the world just like the army, navy and air force. Most of those places control a part of the world to cover and are the United States quick response force for there region. In Iraq, bush is asking for 1 Air Force base, 1 Naval base, and several marine and Army bases to be manned all the time, even after main group of troops leave. The USMC uses most of the planes and helis the US has. Many are flown out of land based bases. there are only a few sea flight wings in the USMC, most ate navy.

I want to know when your nice big carrier is done and looking pretty how are you going to take off and land? The take off may be doable but the landing may raise a serious concern.

lol rhino, PR Operations Lead. And all he can say to this thread is that. wow. (Joking.

)
U can land on the carrier in PR if it was a about 200 meters longer then the runways on kashan.

Yeah, i was going to mention that(btw im sure you meant FTW

).
The British/USMC Harrier jump jet is on its way! And that jet is capable of VTOL(
Vertical
Take
Off and
Landing) and will be able to be flown off of the current Marine assault ships as well as off of land bases(and almost anywhere flat really)

Maybe "copying" the big carrier from the "Iron Gator" map (SpecialForces expansion) could speed up the job :look:
