Black Sand Studios and PR

There has been talking about engine switch for PR. Mostly of the talk has been when are the PR staff burying PR and switching over to another engine. Thinking of the capabilities BSS has with it's huge staff, the 17 BF2 mods and 7 Crysis mods, why not start planing in a wider way, as PR is successfully. I'm saying keep PR on BF2 engine, keep the staff that works here still here, but employ new guys that will start working with a new PR on a new engine. As I see BSS has great creative people that have made great BF2 mods that unfortunately not many plays and probably some mods will ditch, why not make a new team starting to work on a new engine?

It'd be nice to see Crysis PR, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

PR on Crysis would suck hard ***.

unless you plan on donating to us $10,000, we might be able to get a 1/2 decent engine, but thats not even considering things like publishing etc

PR won't move to another engine until it's necessary.

ANd BSS is having really big problems as it is developing the mods. Notice that only USI and PR BGF and FOM are out?

BSS really should be more of a publisher than a mod developer. As it's structured now, it's just going to fall apart, being bogged down by so many projects at once.

Its a mod community just a collection of mods that are wanting to help each other. Its not a developer itself. I should know, I'm a tester there

The PR Team has said on many different engines/topics they will not move to another engine.

Start raising the month total for more money. :D

Uh Why don't you just wait for bf3? I mean Bf3 Will probably have a nice engine for PR, They are brining in more destructible objects etc...

Why BF3, we could wait for BF4. Nothing wrong with BF2 that would be worth waiting around a few years.

Well it should look alot better, And yes realism is part looks no matter how much you try to deny that the small effects really make something more realistic. Just think if you guys start modeling and making stuff for a bf3 version you could have maybe a alpha or beta by the time the first bf3 patch rolls round  Also I didn't think I would hear the day a DEV says there is nothing wrong with the bf2 engine, Just take a look at all the red lines in the "Already suggested" thread.... :-D But really I was not suggesting this as a serious idea, But its far better idea then PR-Crysis

I don't think PR devs will stop working on BF2 engine, if they find a engine worth moving too they may but at the current moment, they don't see a engine worth moving too.

I think the main thing is, until BF3 comes out and that's if that's moddable, there are no other engines that fill the requirements.. Crysis with 64 players and squads? Cod4 with multi role warfare and 64 players? etc...

hahaha thats true

Anyway the team should stay on this engine for now, I see no reason for switching for now. if something smexy is announced with data for modders then I don't see why not slowly start switching. I'd just like bf2 PR to make it at least to 1.5 or so before switching.
