Heres an idea thats been going around my head, what about an Insurgency mode with the IRA vs British in Operation Banner? After all it gets a bit boring running around a desert if you want to play against insurgents .

It would work about 99% the same as Al Bashra only in a City in Ireland (Of course) like a section of Belfast or something like that. I imagine the skins for the IRA could be similar to the Milita ones (Only with Balaclarvas) and the British uniform would just be the Woodland one I guess.

The only problem I can forsee is the need for every building to be custom made since it's not the Middle East or China .

Anyway, sorry for bringing up 'another' faction suggestion .

You basically said it, too much work doing all the buildings etc.

trust me, the last guy that suggested this decided to argue with Gaz about the IRA, it did not end well....

yes gaz is over seas(be safe buddy). Now back on topic, this has been suggested but Project Reality team cant use real organization names for the fear of punishment from goverments, etc. And Gaz will yell about this when he gets back.

Also PR is set slightly in the future, and IRA Operations of such a scale happened in the past, so it wouldnt really make sense to do an IRA map.

I'd love to help with the IRA. I can map and code a fair amount.

IRA would be interesting, and I certainly would enjoy hearing irish voiceovers. Always loved hearing the Belfast accent from my Grandma.

We can handle the government, but could we handle the mafia if we implemented Mafia vs Italian Army

This would only really make sense with a 70s/80s British faction with SLRs

Heh, while the Paramilitary part of the IRA has disbanded I can still imagine there been splinter groups around. I mean, it's not hard to imagine a group of them stirring up trouble that involves British reinforcments to be sent in again (Heck we have a NATO vs China war in PR so).

The IRA has been suggested before, and the answer is a no.
A) Touchy for many.
B) PR is set in the future, not back in the '80s.
C) British statics would have to be made.
D) You'd hardly have the size of the battles we're talking about in PR.
