River Flow, Sea Wave And The Rest

I've been thinking about posting this for a while, since it always seemed somewhat weird for me, just thought it's not that relevant. Recently I made up my mind.
So my question is rather simple: can you add physics for the water-objects in game? Like the river would transport you a 100 feet away before you cross it on Kyongan-Ni or that creek on Qinling or any other. Adding some static force for still waters (vertical circling move). Disabling sprint in ankle-high water. Taking away a lot of stamina while crossing water with your heavy loadout.
Maybe these doesn't sound such great of an impact it might have. Maybe it'd make you walk for the bridge, wait until your target gets on the shore while you aim at him, forces you further to regroup by the water's edge. And it would just add a refreshing realism to gameplay. Any reflections?
