Opfor factions losing a lot lately?

I can't help noticing the on-going trend of maps and rounds, where mostly the US/GB side always wins for some reason.

It already started going on at start of 0.7 on Kufrah, but at the time on particular rounds MEC usually won by tickets or at least brought the GB tickets down enough to end the match ##-0. Militia also proved itself on Fools Road a bunch of times, capturing Village or Train/Warehouse.

But somehow after I started playing 0.75 (got grounded for a month when 0.75 got released :o ops: ) it seemed like some maps can't be won by the opfor factions anymore.
Since 0.7 is now half a year old and history is repeating itself with smacktards, grievers and and muppet players who stare at you while there's an enemy squad that just opened fire 20 m away, the rounds are won generally by team that has less teamkillers or lone wolfs.

Some of the maps, where the allied side wins all the time are:

Fools Road - I started avoiding this map, partially due my FPS rate dropping from 100/10 to 10/100 and partially due the British, who basically have such a huge advantage on this map for some odd reason.
On most rounds I played, I rarely saw any Militia and on one I also played GB had a dedicated "spec ops" squad a.k.a hiding next to the Militia main with Heavy AT waiting for the T62s to spawn and kill them as they left the base.
I think I don't even have to mention how it feels like from the Militia side.

Kufrah OI - I generally never managed to join that map at the start of a round, but when I did the T90s were all dead, MEC was running across the desert being slaughtered by CR2s and sooner or later they captured our main base. The only time I managed to delay their advance was when they parked CR2s and Warriors right in the range of the TOWs at the MEC main and I took out about 3 CR2s and an IFV, but overall every time I play the map, MEC loses all flags and most of the time the CR2 drivers/gunners have no deaths on the GB team.

Ejod Desert - still the old gay rush tactic that wins it it seems, if I join MEC on that map the thing I usually see is 3 LAV25s firing down on North Desert/MEC main. Not to mention one round where MEC kept rushing East City while I kept spotting a bunch of marksmen on a hill overlooking the flag and everyone ignored it.

Basrah - usually 50/50 win ratio, but most of the time when Insurgents cripple GB enough is when they camp the airport entrance since its the only way to get rid of the CR2 unless it's driven by two trigger happy idiots that drive it up into the city while 3 ambushers spawn in a house behind the tank

Not to mention the palace bridges, ammo caches in the open desert, rally points that always spawn exactly the opposite of where the caches are, the nerfed SA7 which needs 3 seconds to lock on and the missile still misses and lack of SVDs which should spawn at mosque/RPs/caches but they don't, not even one.

Qinling - PLA has equal chances of winning from the point of map design, but the EF2000 and overpowered CR2 unbalance it a lot. I haven't seen PLA win the map in a while.
Discuss.

Do tell. The only maps where I see the allied side losing are Gulf of Oman and Zatar with Zatar actually being winnable by a slightly competent US team

Any change there are offical stats to back this up?

I think any of the maps easily go either way.

Generally speaking, I've always noticed that whatever team has more NATO I guys tends to win...
:P

Seriously though, I've seen it about even. From what I can tell the best team will generally win unless their CO is a complete tosser or they have some morons in an importnat asset (Air, Armor)

Well one of the things particularly on Kufrah is that CR2 >>> T90.

Generally CR2s will go together in a group + already overpowered = this
Not a single vehicle on the MEC team. You can ignore the one BMP3 as he didn't make it far.

I haven't really took a lot of screenshots but I can promise that every time I play the opfor on one of the listed maps they usually lose

This much is true.

Qwai is often a PLA win. Hammyong always is, if you can find a server running it. Basrah is very winnable by a good insurgent team. Jabal is very MEC-friendly, too.

I'd say that usually where the US/GB win time after time it's because one of two things happens:

a) Players all defect to the GB/US side to grab the 'shinier' weapons and newer things like the M16A4 and Huey, leaving the OpFor undermanned.

b) The OpFor are playing as INS or MIL and don't understand that they shouldn't be using conventional tactics, and so get out-gunned at range by the IFV, CR2 and L85A12 w/SUSAT.

MOD Double Post = Lulz

But yeah:

Kufrah- GB has better equipment, true. But a coordinated armor team can still win for MEC.

Qwai should be an easy PLA win. Tanks = Win

Basrah depends on the cache spawns, but inside the city its an Insurgent advantage. RPGs are everywhere.

EJOD MEC has the advantage with the better APC. If you are getting raped with the LAV then your team just simply sucks. Use the Eryx...

Qinling- Yeah, unfair. No argument there.

Fools Road- Easy Militia win. Use your armor properly and use your personal Monte Cassino (the Hilltop). If you are getting destroyed by HAT you arent using armor properly (aka supported by infantry and engineers). You also get to all but take enemy armor out of the game by taking down the bridge.

Guy that is known for teamwork/with a lot of buddies -> Swaps to UK/USMC for 'cool' weapons.
Buddies/People that like to teamwork -> Follow him.
Result -> Newbies on PLA/MEC/INS, Coolios on GB/US

Only maps that are almost always won by OpFor are Insurgency maps

It´s all about teamwork. 1 "vet" squad won´t do the task. 25 other players in the team must also do their job + the CO.

CO coordinate attacks and defense. SL carry out the orders, on some maps you win, on some you loose.

Not always, but true on some maps, its easier for some faction, But Zatar can be epic fail for USMC, cuz we had 4 squads all called like, Heli, Huey, LB, Airtrans etc. and so we had 4 squads of about 3 ppl, whining about the choppers with only 1 and a half squad really doing something...

Well had a round of fools road lately and well the GB team got owned, Hard.
They drove all armor, yes all, except for 1 Warrior up to hilltop and capped the flag, ofcourse MIL + LAT + HAT + 2 engis, exploded the **** out of em and Hill top was under MIL control, the warrior at Train, got hit by HAT and had to retreat to main, Main bridge got blown when Warrior was at the GB main, and Militian capped Train + Warehouse..

When your right your right. Nuff said. 8)

But as Viper said, i think it just has to do with the team. Competent=win, canhazbrain=fail.

It's all about the players and not the map problem usually. Better team wins, end of story. Yes, there are couple maps where one side have a little bit advantage over the other but it's not such a big difference.

I would like to see the T-90 be made slightly worse, but have 1.5- 2 times more of them. Alos as far as kufrah goes, at least you have tanks there. Let me count the maps where the US doesnt have ANY tank...

Zatar
Qwai
Oman

The one that really confuses me is qwai. The map is landlocked so I really am missing something here. Considering that it is the ONLY map with chinese tanks for US with no other ones planned, I feel that it would be more fun mirror (or close to) balanced

Jabal... US always lose almost, because no one has any idea how important some of the flags are and they never use the transport. US advantage: Hueys. You can have 2 hueys on the carrier and 3 squads trying to get across the map to a desperately needed flag, but oh no, they don´t want to use their advantage, the helicopter. By the time they get there the round is lost...

Basrah. Played a round of this last night. Will not be playing it again unless I am on the GB team or it is changed in the next release. I did not join at the very beginning, but the round was basically a huge camp fest for the british of the palace and mosque.

The tank raped everything at palace and 2 squads worth of infantry raped the mosque whgile another destroyed all the caches. Realistic or not, I will never play insurgents like that again, because it simply isn´t fun.

Then again, there isn't much places to go with a tank on Fools Road or Qwai and well planned Heavy AT/TOW ambush and the tanks are dead.
Also note, that on Qwai it's conventional force vs. conventional and the tanks have no delay and 10 minute respawn, while the T62s on FR have 30 minutes delay and respawn, in which time the GB can get Spec Ops to ambush the Militia main and take them out before they leave the base.

This could at least be addressed with either removing the delay so Militia can get T62s into ambush positions before they are ambushed themselves (if tanks are supposed to be ambushing)
and placing them inside the base/hangar instead of the open road.

Believe it or not, but the T-62's are not really that popular to attract hordes of people.
