It's because alot of people can't even play. When/if the hotfix comes out, I'm sure the servers will fill up again.

No need for the 'if' there, AznLB. The fix is currently in beta testing stages, it'll be there soon enough.

There is no "if".
We are on the second round of testing 0.25; bit of a pita that BF2 1.2 introduced some bugs that we couldn't tell if they were ours or EA / DICE. Bugs are to be expected in any software release, but it cost us a bit of time figuring it out.
Additionally we had no real prep as to when the patch would come out... we had expected it to be another 2 weeks or so. Being part way through 0.3 and having to do a 0.25 was a little bit unorganised on our end.
The "features" update is relatively minor but should continue to move the gameplay experience towards what the player base and mod team wants, as well as add a bit of new content.
Should be running on servers before next weekend if all goes well.

Seriously, 1.2 introduced ALOT of bugs. Not "some".

According to the 72 votes or so in that poll, about 40 said that they didn't upgrade to 1.2

Assumedly, everyone who didn't patch will do so when the hotfix comes out
