I totally agree with this. The current trucks look like something out of Nam or WW2. But i know this wont be up there on their list of to do so maybe, since its not a complicated model, you can ask one of the community mod guys or some free lance to do it?

The 2.5 ton truck ingame does indeed seem very out of place.

ST need change. But this is just for the Marines. We need to find similar for US ARMY and all other factions.

No, it does the same role. No need, no matter how old it looks there still used today in combat fields. The 2.5 ton truck is used mostly for transportation of supplies and troops. Same thing this does.

I'd love to see the M35A1's modified with a .50 cal for defense.
Oh well... I guess this'll have to do.
Stripes for the win!

The US Army uses the FMTV series of trucks. The 5 ton is the 6 x 6 version. The Marines didn't want in on the program, but still ended up getting the HIMARS mounted on the FMTV chassis. Guess it was cheaper than getting it redone on the MTVR chassis.

"Gentlemen, this is the EM50 Urban Assault Vehicle!"
Not for BF2, but it appeared in another EA game- Jungle Strike.

The Duece and half is looking dated but is still in use same as the British Bedford 4T. The Brits are now getting a new fleet of the MAN support Vehicle, a newer version of the tested Budeswher GS vehicle.

I beleive the vehicle replaceing the deuce and a half is the HEMMT
I support this idea, but you'll have to model it to get it ingame

... No way. I played those style games almost religiously. I guess I never stumbled over it, the F-117 was quite cool though.
From Desert Strike, to Jungle Strike, right up to Nuclear Strike. Loved them all, but Desert Strike was as close to "realism" was going to get back then.
Sorry for the off topic though, some things are just too good to pass up.

The HEMMT is not in the same class as the 2.5-ton; they are monstrous vehicles. The FMTV and MTVR families are what replaced the older 5-tons and 2.5-tons in the Army and Marines, respectively.

It wasn't playable, it was an enemy vehicle. Appeared in the first level as the "Heavily Armed Recreational Vehicle" (HARV), quoting Bill Murray from the movie. You had to stop them from blowing up the monuments in DC.

I don't like how all the factions' trucks look so so similar aside from an insignia It makes Friendly fire incidents more common with all the trucks being the same model
edit: also cover the trucks up so it isn't so easy to slaughter all the infantry riding in the back
