I think that an engineer cant fully repair a tank with out replacing metal or with only a wrench, so i thought that engineers can repair tanks but can't fully repair them, unless they are repaired by a supple create which would have different tools and sheets of armour.

good point though i dont think it the devs would be able limit the engineers ability AND make that ability change from a supply crate or firebase.

and for that matter i dont think they would bother with it.

dont get me wrong i think it's a great idea and would definetly change the way tanks will be used, but to the devs it just wouldnt seem like a reward worth all the work. and not to mention it can also be a double edged sword. since you cant be fully repaired out i the field you would be more cautious about where you go and how, and change youre field combat tactics. on the other hand this would cause tanks to sit next to a supply crate afraid to move away from it.

oh and btw most armoured vehichles carry spare parts such as tank track segments and armour plates. not sure about the plates NOW but back in the old days they did, definetly sure about the tank tracks though and wheels.

ya i think to repair ANYthing u should need a supply crate unless it is in your main base or a bunker or firebase near by

Hardcoded afaik. I dont think the devs can stop a cetrain item from repairing something to a certain degree, UNLESS you give the wrench limited ammo. Dunno if thats possible, but then the engineer would have to get new ammo from somewhere if he wants to repair the tank completly. That wouldnt force him to search for a crate or firebase, but usualy the tank's engineer doesnt have a rifleman with him, so someone would at least have to go there.

It is an supplies crate, its not made for repairing a tank, atleast just get the engineer vechile back and do it with that one near you!
