At least I think thats what it is called ???

Anyway, I'd like all you squad leaders and squad members to realise that great button. Lets sasy: As a squad leader, you are running and you see hostiles to your north west, you hit the voip key and you say "Hostiles to my northh..... east, I mean west..north west! Watch out!" (lol, you know what i mean)

There is a better, and once mastered, a very quick way to do this. You can line up the center of your screen with the area you see the enemies at, hold your "T" button, and hit that "attack here" command. If your squad is used to it, then all you have to do is yell out on voip "Hostiles there!" and quickly get behind cover.

It is also very good when you want your squad to go to a pinpoint location on the map, that position is viewable on your screen, instead of pulling out your minimap and scrolling around and trying to zoom in and hit that location.

Lastly, any "CAS squad" spotters need this command mastered, because it helps the attack jet pilot.

Now, once the squad leader has this utilized, the squad members need to understand how to react. First of all, make sure you have your 3d map on (default alt button). When ever the squad leader says "Here is where the enemy is" You need to immiedietly look on that attack marker, and keep that area covered. Your job as a squaddie is not as hard, but can change your entire squads faith.

Not convinced? Fair enough, just check out dbazo's videos on vimeo, and look at the project reality developer him self utilizing this great tool.
Here is one of his many gameplay videos of a round in sunset city.

A bit after the minute mark, he starts to use it.

Usually when ever I play I see SL's taking the time to pinpoint stuff on the minimap. I hope to see more of you guys then lol.

I also use this, especially when I have armour or HAT/sniper in the squad

although I find that the attack icon gets somewhat annoying when trying to spot new/changing targets that are right on the marker.

also I encourage this when I'm the commander, that way I can put target coords right on top of important enemy assets, so squad leaders detailed to destroy said assets have the exact location of the target.

Its a powerful tool for enaging at range, but in closer battles it is sometimes easier just to say the bearing and landmark.

Remember to tell your commander that he can see your move marker if he highlights your squad. Can be useful at times..

hey commander, this is squad x, enemy tank / firebase at my move marker

Yup. im SL 98% of the time, and i use this function to the max. allthough some people can prove a bit dense and have the 3d map off, which is a bit silly as you really need it. I also think it would be a nice little tweak if the attack marker was (by default) in the center of the Commo rose having been swopped (for squad leaders) for the Target Spotted icon. It would make my job as a squad leader a heck of a lot easier, as tbh i find the "Target spotted" icon to be one of the least used functions.Priority #1 is the attack, #2 is the defend order, #3 is rally point and the rest i dont even care about. so i reckon those three should be the center/Bottom and Top, respectively. :)

can be good to use the attack marker for... well attacking and moving in and use the defence marker to call for supressing fire
