How bout the shock/blurr effect when shot

I think it would be great, to show like..how big a deal it is getting shot if it had the little blur/ heartbeat shock thing when u got hit in the abdomen/head. It would make ppl use cover more and be more careful with their digtial selves, and would make suppresive fire work better too. also, crosshairs being eliminated makes it so much more realistic, because its way harder to hit stuff that the game makes it, you can smoke through and entire magazine and not hit someone lik 100ft away. I love the real sights instead of the old "zooming in" ****.

Please dear god not the shock effect.
Since 1.2 my fps has taken a *SEVERE* hit with the blur effect. I'm completely gimped when having the effect (fighting at 2-5 fps aint very fun). If I always had it when hit I would hardly be able to fight at all.

If you get hit in the head in PR you can forget about a shock effect haha you are toast.

hell even in vanilla bf2 a headshot is at least *supposed* to be a one shot kill
aside from that, dont do it anyway, its supposed to be realistic ya, but you are also supposed to have something of a chance to fight back - if the 1st round to hit you incapacitates you that you cant see what you are doing, its no longer so much about skill than as it is who gets the drop on who - granted ambushing somebody needs to count for something, it would kinda be **** if somebody is sniping you in the body, you get stunned and they get an easy 2nd shot - and if you've never tried to hit a moving target 500 to a 1000 feet away (bout oh, 200 - 500 meters maybe?) it can be hard when you dont have long till they cross the street, so you aim for the body - now think of it being in the shoes of the guy running across the street...

the blur, shock effect doesn't mean u can't move... it just means u can't shoot accurately since u can't see clearly. I suggested it some time ago, and i think it's a good addition.
think about it, in vanilla BF2 u shoot someone on the back, they spin around, dive and shoot u dead on the head... if u ask me... that's stupid...
if i managed to nail someone first, 3 things can happen:
a. if he is too far away he'll get the hell out of his position and move out of my sight since if he stays he's dead (as he should be, a guy don't go rambo and take hits from 7.62mm round and remain stable to shoot back, especially at long range).
b. if he is close, then he will be dead or if he spray me and he is lucky he might just kill me (even with blur u can technically spray, though the likelyhood of hitting anyone except at point blank is low).
c. if he's at long range, i hit him first, and he stays.. then he is one mighty dumb soldier and i SHOULD bloody well nail him again and get rid of him from the battlefield.
I've NEVER seen a soldier, took a hit from a bullet and remain standing in his spot and shoot back at the guy who shot him accurately. Getting shot by even a 5.56 mm round through kirsat armour plate still knock the living hell out of the person, how the heck is he supposed to shoot back accurately?

like I said, if you get the drop on somebody, they should be the one to die, but it shouldnt eliminate every possibility that they might be using a sniper kit say and hit the deck and pop you square in the head - which is where the delay in going prone would come into play that has been much discussed on the PR forums
BTW usually in a quick case, I wont even go prone, I'll just hit my control=crouch bind and pop em one in the skull... might not be as accurate but I'm more comfortable with it and so quicker that away....

This may be realistic, because when i broke my leg when snowboarding, wow, my world was shattered. Everything was blurry and distorted added my to intermittent squinting.

i think a very slight blur effect would be nice, one that lasts 1 second, any longer and it would just be too much.

Lol, I dont' think it's that good of an idea. It's hard enough as is if some one gets the drop on you to fight back. Add in dissorienting screen motions and blurr and and a One shot always kills turns into a two shot always kills.

that's the main idea really, if a person managed to get a drop on u without u noticing it, at close to medium range with no immediate cover then u should be dead without being able to return fire effectively. The idea being that if u were hit ur first instinct should be to take cover and then nail the guy who shot u instead of the other way around.
If u were hit from longer range then u should have enough time to evacuate the area and get to cover assuming the bullet didn't punch ur skull. A person don't remain standing and perfectly ok after getting shot by bullet, it makes no sense that these soldiers in BF2 behave like they are under PCP drug.

I complealty agree with a small stun and blur effect when shot. If someone gets the drop on you then you should proably be dead baring some devine intervention or bad luck on their part.

Well it could be cool adding some screams to like "aaaahhhhhh" or something when hit

but i like the idea anyway

I don't like the idea. It would kill any chance you have of even remotely fighting back, other than spray and pray.
On another note, I've been in a car accident before -- I know, it isn't nearly the same as being shot, but going from about somewhere between 70 and 80MpH to a complete stop in less than 2 seconds can't be too much better. I was fully aware of what was going on, and I could see pretty well -- Aside from the fact that everyhting in front of me seemed like it was farther away than it really was, yet I was fully aware of what was happening... kinda hard to explain

I would like to see a new effect that would be similar to the one that CoD2 has when you get low on health. It has a very slight blur and adds a big blood ring around your screen. For one thing it makes it really easy to tell you're being shot, and for another it does slightly disorient you without in any way incapacitating you.

IMO, we deffeinetely need the scream of pain from 42 back. and real screams of pain, not 'ow'. hopefully we can redo all the voices someday....
effects wise. should be something like a 1/2 second of black ness or blinking animation, then like 5 to 10 seconds of blurriness depending on where you were shot. explosoins should be the same, but blurry for like a minute instead, and maybe for both throw in a tunnel vision effect that would gradually wear off.

ehh i think thats going a little too far, depending on how blurry your talking about.
the point is pray and spray SHOULD be your best bet in close quarters when someone gets the jump on you. and from a distance you better drop to prone and take cover when you get shot to regroup yourself. im satisfied with a 1/2-1 second blur.

ya, dont make it too insanely long, a half or quarter second ingame is a lONG time, realism is nice, but it still has to be playable...

If you make it so long time i think i will effect the exsitement of the game, cuz it would take so long time to come over being shot, ½ second in the game is long time if you are facing an enemy in close combat. Well it has to be realistic, but as i said it will take to long to come over, that you were shot??

5 to 10 seconds is far to long. A point blank flashbang to the face doesnt even last that long. 3 seconds maximum.

3 seconds:0 i though it was about 10 seconds, but i was wrong...again
