I do realize why these were put in, but later on, could you guys put in an animation to aim down the mounted lmg's and vehicle heavy machine guns? Another option would could be to simply program in tracers being shot more often to help guide your shot. The zoom effect is cool also, but I'm not sure it's too realistic(I do like it a lot though).

thats the idea for the eventual, but the little + serves as aim point untill our coders have enough time do figure that out. thats what i *think* is gonna happen.

I liked it how it was without the crosshair, those guns are already the most accurate weapons in the game in full auto. and you can easily adjust your fire quick enough for a kill. I don't like the crosshair one bit
And i think the tracer count is fine too!

right click and you zoom in + get a crosshair.
and yes, but you dont see 50.cal gunnsers looking down there iron sights on it when they are shooting it on a hummer...
Also it would be gd if the mini guns in the blackhawk has iron sights too
I think it wouldnt be to hard to code. Just make a new 2D iron sight and then just do the normal iron sight code onto them... should work ye?

I think this is a nice suggestion, but I've never seen someone aiming through the iron sights of a mounted MG (in vehicles) irl. Not that it doesn't happen, but would need to check with the military advisors of the team, i guess. They do seem to sit lower so that the field of view of the soldier is closer to the sight of the MG.

In general, those that are not coders always think that nothing is hard to code.

I do abit of codeing myself. But i only do the very basics for my mod when i need to
But this would mainly be a copy and paste job i would have thought. Just copy and paste the code from a nroaml weapon and then modify it to suit the MG

Well, if nobody aims with heavy mg's with the sights then we just need more tracers. The guns are powerful enough as is in this mod and damn accurate, the last thing we need are mobile, full auto, sniper rifles.

these dont need cross hairs or iron sights is because the main point of these guns is to either take out low flying helis or provide cover fire so tracers are fine for it IMHO

But they are not used that way so much in PRMM, they are being used to take down soldiers all the time?? or am i the only one who noticed this??

i think that after hearing this discussion, the + should be removed. the things are so damn accurate anyways, we have plumes of dust that shoot up to tell us where the rounds are going, along with tracer rounds...

yea.... youll find in Oasis, these 50 cal's are being used like FULL auto sniper rifles...
in RL, you have to fire a few shots before your on target, same should be true with PRMM>

Minigunners use the tracers to aim

In RL, I think .50 cal machineguns WOULD be like full auto sniper rifles at 50-100m range. Oasis is a pretty tight map.

Yes, remove crosshairs and put nice visible tracers...

ah you misunderstood what i ment, which, i look back at my post is easy to do.
i was agreeing with the removal of the sights because they are used for cover fire and not accurate aimed shots. im all for the removal of the + and visible tracers.

seconded, (uhh or should i say tenthed?? heck that doesn't make sense)
anyway, yep... i'm all good for removal of crosshair, and aim with tracer only for thoose mounted guns. Actually i am all for removal of crosshair in any weapon, and sight being the only method to have accurate idea of where ur shooting at.

What else has a crosshair?
