3 nice ideas

hi everyone I have 3 new suggestions that I think everyone could appreciate if they were implemented

1: commander's ability to highlight colored squares(or circles) on certain areas of the map and (if possible) ability to pin text on the map.
these markings would be seen on the main map for every player.
It would make life simpler 4 everyone

the squares would shade parts of the map just like real soldiers do with high lighters. the commander would put the squares next to each other to describe a map

Green: friendly area = do not throw mortars here
red: enemies in the area = enemy may have a forward base here
blue: area has been searched = you wont find a cache or Forward base here
orange: enemy has been spotted in this area here recently
yellow: this is a squad's area of operation. a the commander can input text like the squad's number to show that that squad should not go beyond this point

idea #2 what if you could capture all soldiers just as you would civilians (except soldiers have shiny guns) this would contribute points toward earning intel that would lead you to to the spawn point (rally or firebase) from where the soldier you captured originally spawned

if the soldier you captured spawned at the main base you still receive intel points. lintel would show you a random forward base

100 meter intel distance sound good?
this would help put pressure improve game gameplay issues that seem unrealistic: specifically the *good hiding spawn + suicide rush tactic. thats because rushers rarely look behind them
also there's been a suggestion that picking up an officer kit helps you find the rally point which I approve!

idea #3 vehicle music radio system + psy ops
the idea came out this way. if we have smoke to mask people visually what about the audio of the gunshot?
Americans have psy-ops in which they mount large speakers in their APCs and tanks that blast out music thats encouraging to them and discouraging to jihadists. These songs include: die MF die! by dope and bodies by drowning pool.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... OPS3ap.jpgImage
heres how it goes: the driver of the vehicle presses a number thats not used by a weapon then right or left clicks to play different songs.
different vehicles may get different sets of songs and depending on what players like
I think this would be a BIG hit.
the number 9 would silence the music

most vehicles would only play music thats loud enough for the passengers
but some armored vehicles and maybe would be able to blast music that way they would mask the gunshots of the advancing infantry.

to prevent 2 songs playing at the same time you may want to limit the number of vehicles equipped with loud speakers
also: jihad cars wont be able turn off their music

vehicles: dope(the artist group)
tanks: The RIde of the Valkyries lol!
jets: crazy fast dance music (industrial anyone?)
helis: Vietnam era stuff

lol seriously music would make the game so much MORE fun than it already is!

lets discuss, what kind of stuff would you be want playing while playing PR?
PS: I don't think the music would get abused in PR in the same way that people don't endlessly honk the horn.

ya i know ;) know but i hoped you would be distracted liking 1 and 2 so much you'd like 3 by asscociation
but honestly #3 would be awsome! i remember i made a 2 chord soundtrack with apcs' horn and signal in v0.6.
but I remember bfvietnam those were good times and good music

lol here's a joke:
every time you teamkill or 1 man a vehicle
a nasty picture of denis rodman in fishnet or people with disfiguring diseases flashes on your screen
if you continue team killing NUMA NUMA song will play every time you wait to respawn ROFL!!!! this would be the worst!

but then teamkilling would be solved! haha

Yeah, I especially like #2(as long as they some day come out with riot cuffs)(the cuffs made of nylon ties)

Because there is a difference between knifing somebody and arresting/interogating them.....also they said that knifing is a "placeholder"

keep in mind they also said that a-boot Insurgent Composite4, and now they have Semtex H

but yeah #3 has been suggested(the times ive seen) atleast 3 times before

I dont thin k you highlight maps in reality... Summin to do with things being moved all the time, maps are valuble tools and you dont wanna mess it up... Also you dont wanna mark where all your stuff is on a map that the enemy could potentially get their hands on..

1. Yes, total yes, an amazing suggestion that works so well with the introduction arty at some point.
2. No, people work hard to hide rallys and such, I don't like the idea of giving that away.
3. Yes, but only on Insurgency Maps, otherwise it's just a target, oh, and it needs to have some kind of bonus or some such.

Even if #3 was implemented.. You think either the Devs or EA would get copyright problems on the songs? Its definetly worth thinking about :>

Love the first ideas, especially the commander marking the map idea, the commander needs some more ways to help keep his troops organized. Idea number two I think is a bit of a stretch. In combat, your not going to worry about arresting soldiers to interrogate them, you job is to kill them, not detain them with zip ties. As for number 3... What ever happens happens

I like the first one because if they take away freindly infantry away from your maps you'll still know where freilndy squads are.

lol i'd agree with all 3 except that

Heli - ride of the valkries
armour - heavy metal
light vehichle - heavy metal
jets - none

reason being tankers sit and gun from safe positions so metal is used more often, where as chopper insertions ussualy have ride of the valkries playing anyways.

jets dont get music the pilots have to much to handle to have music distracting them

I love the first idea it'd mean less attempting to tell people what you mean and even those without voice would know straight away what was going on all around the map.

The third one is a no on my part for two reasons
1. Come on you know you'll be sick of hearing those songs by the end of your first game with them included
2. It'll get abused by all those idiots who post youtube videos of themselves ruining the game for everyone, it's just the sort of thing they'd love to have.

I came up the commander map highlighting because as a squad leader I was going bonkers when the commander kept on trying to pass along information while everyone was talking to me at the same time.

hey if you guys like the idea, while we're at it, why not make it somewhat similar to that ATC program where the commander would have his spotted marks stay until he removes them, that way the sniper/fire base/tank ect would actually remain marked on the map until the threat is removed.

in this way the squad leaders are encouraged to give intel in terms of whether theres a target or target is down, because they can have other squads react to the threats that they see.

spotting system RIGHT NOW doesn't work well any more not in my opinion. because you get too much audio chatter and the map marking only stays for a few seconds which doesn't give anyone enough time to actually see it. so you'll have to keep spotting the same enemy which adds even more audio clutter.

ya think i should make a new thread to discuss that?

Allowing Commanders to draw on the battlefield map is a very good idea.
