Have you ever been ripped to shreds on a map like ghost train because nobody took the apc (or even jeep) with the excuse it isnt super convenient to move in it through the jungle, only to encounter a squad backed up by an apc whose driver had no problem with driving at man pace shooting the daylights out of you while the infantery makes it impossible for at or hat to target the apc ?

First, find a nice camping spot, then shut off the engine. Then use some indirect fire using a spotter.

Fire.

Frankly, a one-man APC beats no APC. ;) Of course, always ask for takers to gun for you. A two-man APC definitely beats a one-man APC if both are competent crewmen. :)

Why does shutting down the engine mean solo-crewed? Just have the driver hop to another seat ;)

well that would be inconvenient only seeing 1 side. Driver coordinates with the gunner spots out targets and if get hit pull out in time.

Driver hops out, and spots for the gunner. Helps if the driver is the squad leader so he can put markers for the apc to lay down some indirect fire.

A bit off-topic, but...

Was "solo-ing it" to defend the North bridge from the opposing forces, since no one had grabbed the APC. Had this squad member jump into my APC and began driving down to South Bridge. I told him "What are you doing? We're gonna get killed down here." And you know what he said? "But Dude... We're IN AN APC."

I loled so hard as we got AT'd to death. Anyways, Ive seen rounds on Kashan where the A-10 was STILL ON THE GROUND.

it annoys me alot how no one uses a APC in a very realistic manner. i dont know how many times i was in an infantry squad and came upon a threat that an APC could easily take out, but all the apcs are scattered around the map instead of sticking with infantry. i mean dont they do that in real life?

Personally, APC are more of an issue on Ejod Desert. If the ennemy team happen to have good APC crew and we happen to have nobody on ours or a very bad one. We're basically totally absolutely screwed.

Everytime I use an APC, I try to support infantry on the frontline following them at range and providing support but unfortunenately, not enough armor crew do it. When you are using tank or APC, don't go on your own! Support infantry! Its all you gotta do!

OGT's APC's are insanely easy to kill because there are so many ambush positions. The only upside to them is that the PLA one can float, but this is a non-issue with a ford and a rail bridge to use.

QFT, OGT is murder for apcs especially when no infantry covers you.

I think it would help if maybe the HAT didn't instantly kill an APC, but merely set it fatally burning, giving the crew and passengers a chance to bail. Not entirely realitic though, but atm i'd rather travel in a trans behind an APC as their going to be the No1 AT magnet and have little chance against a HAT and are going to be in trouble against a good LAT team, as even if they can't get position for a 1-shot kill, you can give a good team with the right terrain a better than evens chance against the APC.

Very rarely see the sight of an APC rolling up a good distance away from a position, the inf jumping out and attacking while the APC provides long range fire support....

omg you have one shot with the AT and by the time you need one they are all gone because people picked them at the start of the game and gotkilled in the first 10 min.

ive actually had people on servers say to me "its stupid to have an apc with us! the apcs need to go out on their own and kill tanks and stuff!!" needless to say i leave those kind of squads.

HAT have 2 shots, and its not like ammo is gold dust.
LATs are available one per squad IIRC
