some one sugested mirriors for peeking round corners a few days ago..and some one replied taht mirors are most likeley not possible on teh bf2 engine..or would take very much work to make....so the only way u can have a "miror" is the 3rd person view which i personally didnt like....what i usualy do is get a squad member to be my rear view camera :-)

Maybe...like in RL....use a 'Ground Guide' to move a vehicle in reverse without hitting something.

...just a thought...

Perhaps my graphics settings have never been sufficient but I can't recall seeing reflections in BF2 at all.

Are there any modders able to say whether it's possible to actually move the camera position, as well as rotate it whilst sitting in a vehicle? This way you might be able to mimick moving the players head out of the window for reversing.

270 degree view should do - 180 front + additional 90 to the right for the rear view (left for brits)

Why not add another camera view like in the jet, simulating you looking out the back? There's some tricky numbers to deal with, but it's possible.

Yes, i'm for a new camera view. Just put it at the location of the mirror and it will be realistic.

Btw... When it comes to mirrors, i could swear the you can see whats behind you when you use the (i think) British sniper rifle. Or maybe it was the M40. There is a reflection on the scope.

I think thats caused by env maps or something placed by the mapper. Basically, the mapper places a 'Camera' in several places around the map. The view from which ever one you are closest too will be shown as a reflection in your scope, or something like that...i'm no mapper.

But proper reflections in BF2 are, AFAIK, impossible.

I think it would be a good idea to add rear view cameras in a realistic position to simulate a mirror though.

usually I use a squad-mate to guide me through but rear view mirror or backup camera view is a good one

I fully endorse this suggestion.

And I've only read the guy's name. Wargasm was awesome! Its great to have found someone other than me and Kenwayy who've played it! :D

On a more on-topic note, adding something like this isn't a half bad idea. Sure we can't have working mirrors, but we have defibs as a metaphor for dragging your mate into cover, why not have a rear view camera as a metaphor for a wing mirror?

this is definetly something i want, every now and again i try to setup an ambush with an APC but i can never back the thing properly into the position i want, most fo the best ambush spots i find if you're not in the perfect positioning it just wont work

No more views in my opinion. Just make it so that the driver can turn his head back far enough to see where he's going. We don't need more of these things so driver can spot everyone with that camera. It's good enough as it is.

If you need to reverse some few places, hop out and look.

Hm.. Thats odd, im pretty sure that you can see your rear wherever you go with that scope ;)

A simple looking back camera like we have in the jets is a great idea.

Will also help get rid of those accidental Tk's.
