[Map] Island Chain (4km) [WIP]

The Names only A WIP. My maps going to be based in indonesia/ timor.
At the moment its ADF vs Malitia i'm not thinking of PLA or anything else.
My aim of this map is to get a map with the sort of look// prettynes

of wake, but with gameplay completly differant.

I visualise a old public aircraft strip... Not something the military uses more of a old battered under funded domestic passanger airstrip .... do a google and i am sure you will see a few images.
Could be a key point and good story line for the ADF to take in order to establish themselves ?
Somewhere in between your proposed AA batteries and weapon caches
Just an idea?

By the Missile Silo maybe have some kind of costal batteries with the militia anti tank guns from fools road in some bunkers.

You might want to make the dock on the inside of the ring. I know if wanted to build one, I put it somewhere sheltered from storms battering the islands from the outside.

In keeping with the theme of the Reality part...
You can't really add an aircraft carrier as we don't have any...

perhaps make a small offshore island with some RIBs and AFVs? Either that or ADF could nick some american carriers

Well we could get someone to model one of smaller navy ships that would give us 2 blackhawks...or we could add a aircraft carrier as I know the navy is getting 2 and should be in service around about 2013.

well on the + side its not anouther Afghanistan map...
going by the size of your missile silo your map is not 4km, its 2km squared...
missile silo on a random Chinese island has already been done (Op Barracuda) so I wouldn't bother doing the same thing again...
and ye, you would really need a new Assault ship / Carrier for this map...

Well we do have a model of the HMAS Kanimbla, modelled by Beex and lent to us I believe, WallyJas knows the full story there, however it needs to be uv'd properly into a static model.

interesting, like a mini assault ship. It would take loads and loads of work to rework the model so it could be skinned to the carrier pallets, then would take even more work to uv it to thous pallets.
I would get a better map than "op Barra clone" if i was going to put so much effort into making a ship like that thou.

The Missle Silo I had there was removed and i put a temple complex there in its place, I thuaght about the op. barra clone thing and thuaght the same about it being too similar.
I've been adding over/under growth to the map, and i was just curious , does overgrowth forest run better then static forests ?? or are they the same thing?
I didn't realise Aus. didn't ahve an aircraft carrier.
Is there anything else that makes it similar to op. barra I would like to make it as differant as i can.

Cool looking map.. we need a fun island map like Wake Island.. this one looks like it might turn out to have some strategy involved unlike wake
Looking forward to see some progress! I can imagine some very cool battles there..
Be sure to add some boats for alternative transport to a blackhawk..
Also it would be cool if you offered two modes for this map.. night time assault. where the black raft boats are specifically used for silent breaching and a day map for a kinda "next day aftermath" assault where blackhawks are used in desperation for winning the island... and if servers would run a team switch every two games so if you played that map for the night assault as the ADF, then the "day after" version you got to play as ADF also to see the battle through instead of switching sides.. i dunno i just think that could be a lot of fun.

^^it would also be cool if there were multiple CP's to attack at first so the Militia would have no idea where you were going first.
