ive said this earlier but in the wrong place, so now i make a topic. i just think the MEC soldiers look really silly and cliché, especially the special forces guy(facial hair is extreme/fi5kuS/excessive). it looks like they come directly out of a hollywood film, so i just want to hear what you say and if you can make new models/textures

Making new models would be too much work just for small cosmetical reasons.

New textures are possible, but what is wrong with the mustaches?
AFAIK it's still a symbol of manhood in the Middle East. (don't QFT me though)

Well, from what I'm told, western soldiers shave their beards and keep short hair for A) better sealing gas masks B) Hygiene, as there are things that like to live in them.

this is true but where your culture intervenes the conformity ends. as well in the hot dry desert, nothing is gonna be growing in your hair.

A) wrong, most military issued gas masks wrap around most of your face so in most cases facial hair isnt an issue.

B) western forces are just too lazy to wash their hair when they bathe lol

(even then most troops not in active combat keep their hair at a reasonable length, as long as the hair does not touch your ears and the back does not touch your collar, and no side burns)

I don't mind the beards, but those uniforms are bleh, I'd like to see something more modern for em.

I find it sorta racist, but thats just my opinion

I'd like to see some of the gear be to be differently colored, or something. It kinda looks like they have jumpsuits right now (imo)

why not just umm hehehehe just sylize there beards

I disagree, the camo is awesome(great job team!) and in real life(what the point of this mod is) Middle Eastern men(Muslim men) con't cut or shave their heads(like western armies do) and I don't believe that there are any restrictions on how the men are supposed to appear with facial hair(translation: don't think they have to shave beards)

The only problem I see is "they all look alike" and I don't mean this in a racial way about the PLA, I mean all the MEC have the same face.... USMC(especially with the black Marines), GB, PLA, and Militia teams look different, but the MEC teams faces are all based off of one face.

My only request is that the change the faces a little bit, so they don't look like the perverbial clone army they are!

i think the mec uniforms are pretty damn modern looking, if youve seen the uniforms of most middle eastern armies, most dont even wear armor and their helmets are usually old school style. the mec looks to me like what a unified middle eastern army with vast oil wealth would look like.

and after all, they are a fictional army so its kind of a moot point.

US Marines are always told to keep a clean shaving face. That goes double for when they are on active duty and shave to have better sealing gas masks, control lice, not get chemical material and what have you in there.

I heard this all from my Marine Corps recruiter who told me to shave and keep it that way

So for you to say that makes you sound silly.

I agree... every MEC soldier is a clone. At least have one with a mustache only maybe.

Another I notice with the USMC... is that the white guy model looks as if he grew out for a week or two. It might be an idea to re-texture him to look more clean shaven because as mentioned most western armies (especially here in the U.S) have strict shaving policies unless your special forces.

Yeah. The uniforms look great IMO. The faces need work though. MEC army should be: one moustache only, one stubble bearded, one heavily bearded (hardcore muslim), and one clean shaven.

It would add some nice variety

do insurgents have big beards and different faces?? I cant remember now...but if they do you could just take some of their faces and slap 'em on the MEC ?
