Whilst i have been making my map latly, i have needed to place ambient effects, but when i place things like rhinos " river rapids" the editor just explodes and will not co-operate.

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge as to why this would happen , or prehaps how i could stop this from happening , i really need those rapids for my map , Thankyou.

Anyways to place a effect in your map, you need to place the effect though its "starter", which can be found here:

\objects\staticobjects\ambienteffects\static\


NOT:

\objects\Effects\ambient\StaticFX\


The 2nd path is the effect itself, but for the effect to run in your map it needs to run though anouther .con file. Ye it took me ages to get too

Thanks Rhino , i'm just about to see if that works now, the fact i don't have effects loaded in may have something to do with it not appearing , but never the less, Thankyou for the assistance, its nice having people who know the ins and outs around
