M68 vs EOTEC optics

Hey Devs, great work so far on the latest version, can't wait to update and get bullets flyn again, but i got this little thing called OIF 08-09 in my way at the moment, anyways. Hey I'm seeing alot of upgraded optics over here(as well as myself) the M68 is a nice red dot optic, but between you, me and well everyone who is on this forum...it's ****. The line of EOTEC optics is becoming evermore present in theater. Provided link if interested in future versions, optics are far better and with the magnification addition they are just awsome.

Product: 553.A65BLK | L-3 EOTech Holographic Weapons Systems]EOTech

****, I can never get my links into one small word...anyways.
I wouldn't change back for anything, I have the 553.A65. And like I said, it smokes the M68.
Of course I'm referring to the upcoming new US ARMY soldiers and weapons in v0.8.

As well, take a look at the M1151 humvee, and the MRAP's they are much more prevalent over here. The MRAPS were rapidly fielded, so the gov hasn't settled on one version yet, there are three versions in theater right now. But just something to think about for a replacement for the 5 ton truck, it's barely used anymore except for FOB Op's, armored LMTV's are used for missions.

Again, just some things to think about. With my "Front Line Views" thought it might be useful

M68 vs EOTEC

There has been an EOTEC modelled by a dev, but we're having a lot of trouble contacting the creator to get the files. From people we consulted, it's the M68 that is far more common but the odd EOTEC is definitely present. Perhaps if we get those files in the future we could mix and match between the two.

MRAP & M1151

The problem here is that these kind of vehicles are designed specifically for the task of fighting an insurgency. Had the war on Iraq not taken place, we probably wouldn't see HMMWV's smothered in armour (M1151) or vehicles specifically designed to take IED blasts (MRAP).

Even though we have insurgency maps, we're really trying to keep the majority of assets geared towards conventional war. IRL, no ME or FE military has true equivalents to those vehicles.

In other words, with the sheer amount of US/UK vehicle additions we've made, we have a lot of catching up to do for OPFOR.

EDIT: All that said, it's no secret that [R-Dev]Cheeseman has an M1151 up his sleeve ;)

ok that just made me chuckle TheScot666, I so wish it was true. Actually it feels good to back in this shit hole, I know, kinda demented. and yes the NV mode does rock.

[R-DEV]Jaymz, happy to know you Devs are tracking on current vehicles, I was just looking at some v0.8 images and saw the M998, those haven't been seen in combat in some time. I also know what you are saying about insurgent/ IED driven tech on our rigs, but brother, thats the kinda wars we are facing and fighting today and tomorrow. And, the MRAP, just suggesting another option for Command Vehicle, other than the 5 ton.Love this game and forum, really just want PR to be current :-) (hope that didn't sound to jerky, just tryn to do my part)

OH yeah, tanky, how do you friggn do that link in one word thingy, I forgot as soon as I did it once. And your pic of the humvee is spot on, but that is a M1114 thats up armored, M1151 are a little different, more user friendly is all (M1114 looks cooler though) I like it

Hey men, will be posting pics soon, I'll try and find some place appropriate for them, any suggestions where?

How about "news from the front lines"? :)

Anyway, I'm currently modelling an EOTech for the Norwegians and Dutch, so if the DEVs are interested...

LOL I really don't think having a eotec insted of a normal aimpoint will change the balance in the fire fight it will be the same just a different look thats all, it wont make the gun better or anything.

Anyway I would love to see that sight ingame its just pure sex :p

But Spaz! If you have any sort of rail on your gun, it makes it ultimately better :P

just sad that we can't simulate the eotech correctly (no need to align you eye for the sight to be precise. it always is on target which is awesome. corner shooting anybody :) )

why not use the unlock system so change between M4 with M86 or M4 with EOTech? same with the OPFOR factions some how find a way to give china and the MEC other scope options, this would also lead to some more diversity on the battlefield.
