spawning in waves variation

Somebody mentioned spawning in waves, seen as it has its advantages and disadvantages I wanted to suggest a variation.
Maybe an in between could be found, like tying the respawn timer to the whole squad, ie if somebody dies and a couple of sec later another member dies the timer of the guy who died first gets reset to match the timer of the guy who died last.
That way you have spawning in waves to some degree at the same time the other members are motivated to stay alive to not prolong spawn time.
