Commander/Flag Suggestions

I hope you will read this since I though I put some good points in there.
After playing for a while, I seem to notice that most of the maps are pretty one sided. I believe this is because one side has plenty of time to get entrenched with its MGs and everyone else and just camp the whole game and completely stop any other flags from being captured besides the first. IMO, along with the many others playing, the team should be able to cap any flag they choose to. This would help decrease the ammount of 1 sided raping that has been going on on many of the maps. The enemy knows where the attackers are coming from since the flag area only has a few openings to go through, and this only helps them put up a pretty empenitrable defense.
Another suggestion I had was that the commander should be put back in, but not exactly like its regular Bf2 counterpart. The commander is what gets the squads to cordinate and work together as a team. Without one, how does the team know where to go(if you take my suggestion of any flag being able to be capped) and the commander can also make the attackers have a better chance at assaulting. If he could get his UAV or at least his ability to talk to every squad back, then it would be very benifical to the team. I can understand why you don't want the UAV, but there is no person that can talk to everyone over VOIP successfully except for the commander.
Sure, some people have TS, but if this mod is to become popular, not everyone will use TS and it is much easier for one commander/man, to tell one squad to flank right, while teh other to flank left instead of the squads just typing and not paying attention. I am not asking for artillery or anything like that, just the commander in his spot so he can talk to the team and point out where they need and actually lead them since the squads are too broken and lone wolf as it is which doesn't help them coordinate an attack on the first flag which is by far the hardest.
Also, instead giving the spec ops C4, maybe they should get flashbangs since they are special forces or both for blowing up bridges and flashes for clearing buildings.
And if you are making weapons for the future, teh MEC could use a new weapon which I suggest the AN-94 Abakan for. Its jsut a suggestion why you are modeling new skins since the MEC has never gotten anything new since specials forces really which was just a chopper.
I really enjoy this mod, but the games are really one sided since the squads dont have a leader in order to lead them. Some squad leaders are just better followers then leaders and it would be helpful if a commander could help/push them along.
And the spawn spots are pretty bad aswell because you spawn out in the middle of nowhere.
The smoke grenades need a longer and larger radius as well.
I am just trying to help thisproject out with some suggestions from things I have seen and I am no noob if you think these are from a guy getting beat every sec. I spend all my time on the ground in regular BF2 and actually played liked I do in the mod, and IMO, it gives me some weight behind what I say.

for the Commander and flashbang suggestions i totaly agree. But the spec opps might still want C4 but flashbangs would be grate. Just that the falshbangs need recodeign to make them much more realistic.
but for the map thing u first talked about i didnt get what u where on about

Western flags are really interesting, but we always fight for the first flag, which is very hard to capture.
I have an idea how to change that. Simply give MEC Mosque at the beginning:
Something like this:

I meant by the map thing that they are all pretty one sided since the side defending has plenty of time to put up defenses like armor men on buildings etc.
O, and another important thing I saw was that their is no muzzle flash which really makes it incredible hard to see where the fire is coming from which makes the game seem unrealistic. I don't know if it is a bug or not, but not seeing muzzle flash, let alone tracer round really makes it hard to locate enemy positions, snipers, and you don't have a commander to point them out as well. Another advantage the defending team has.
And if you do reinact the commander from my suggestions, then maybe you can just give him his own kit like a pistol or something so he wont really fight.
Some of the maps just don't fit with this game either that are vanilla. The created ones are perfect, but levels like Dalin Plant, Fushe and Dragon Valley, aren't really going to work that well. All the urban ones do along with Songhua etc. but those maps are pretty hard because of their wide open layout which means death since you are killed so easily. They have armor which can just sit there and rape and no cover to move from in order to get to the flag.

I agree a commander would help a lot but I would think that he would only be able to drop supplys, no arty or scan or UAV. being able to zoom in real time and spot out enemys and coordinate an army is good enough in my opinion. That was one of my favourite things about this mod, if you want to hide you can and you can stay hidden. i wouldnt want to ruin that with UAV's and scans, as they are'nt portrayed realisticly.

That way assuls troops could better clear rooms and the spec4 troops can assist the squads in covert movement by smoking intersections and hidind the teams numbers in route.

what about giving Spec ops the smoke? it seems a bit to me like smoke grenades would be more spec4 than a FB would be and since the assult troops are the front line room clearing assult force give them the FB's? That way assuls troops could better clear rooms and the spec4 troops can assist the squads in covert movement by smoking intersections and hidind the teams numbers in route.

I can deal without any of the can or stuff like that if the commander can just talk to every squad, point where they have to go, and point out enemy positions manuelly like he is getting intel from UAV so his troops can clear out snipers they cannot find etc.
I agree. I was just thinking of a BlackHawk Down situation in which the Delta Force Operators would clear the room by flashing if I remember. They could both use flashbangs actually since the Special Forces class is good for getting in covertly and using the flashes to clear a building filled with MGs or entrenched enemies. But assualt needs them too since they are the fighting unite, but without losing their smoke grenades. Spec Ops doesn't need to lose their C4 either.
yea, the smoke grenades seem like they were really decresed from the original and need a longer life span and darker so that you cannot see through them as easy.

I've put the Commander back on GloryHoundz after removing UAV, Scanner and Arty.
The main things left to the commander are organizing squads, dropping supplies and the max zoom (don't know of a way to disable that, at the moment.

Its a great map, but fighting for the Mosque is a bit boring...

Thanks for putting the commander back and it did help a bit but the maps are still a little bit unorganized. The commander will definately help.
If you can, can you also change Steel Thunder back to 16 players since the 32 player version is just too big as it is now for any real combat especially when people start to leave.

problems ive seen about the commander is that you can get really silly commanders, that all they do is drop supplies on the squad where ever possibal.
For exsample, I was flanking this flag round the back with my squad, all my squad where moving slowley, and not making a sound ect. The enemy had no clue we where there. Then the commander decieds, ohh lets drop a supplie box on them. Enemy see this big thing with a parshut fall from the sky right into the middle of my suqad and they open fire. killing most of my squad and the flanking has failed.
This has happened more than once, but it was with the same commander. Good commanders say "Squad Leader, Supplie drop is avalibal" then i can request it.
I think It could be much better if commanders can only put supplie crates where squad leaders request mabey? but this might not work if you have a stupid squad leader....
